A deeply disappointing stay, completely unworthy of its "high-end" name. When we first arrived at the B&B, we had high expectations—it was located in a scenic area, stylish, and beautiful—it perfectly matched our expectations of a "high-end B&B." However, these expectations quickly shattered upon arrival, replaced by endless disappointment and anger. 1. The room was as cold as an ice cellar, and the facilities were nonexistent. On the day we checked in, the temperature in Xingyi plummeted to -3°C to -2°C, accompanied by a chilly wind. Upon entering the room, we felt the biting cold and immediately asked the B&B's housekeeper how to remedy the situation. The housekeeper casually said, "Just turn on the air conditioning." Believing him, we closed the doors and windows, set the air conditioner to a high setting of 30°C, and headed out for our adventure. However, six hours later, when we returned to the room, the air conditioner was still freezing, even though it was running. Apart from the bed, which was barely comfortable enough to lie on under the electric blanket, it was impossible to stay in the room for long, and even showering was a luxury. Even more frustrating, there were noticeable gaps between the doors and windows, allowing cold air to seep in, making it impossible to raise the temperature. 2. The housekeeper's attitude was perfunctory and she showed no sincerity in resolving the issue. We contacted the homestay housekeeper several times, hoping she would come to the site to investigate and resolve the issue. However, she refused to come, claiming she was "in the city" and "another staff member was asleep," and even tried to fudge the situation by offering a red envelope. At our insistence, she offered to let us take a taxi downtown while she booked a room for us. Having found the housekeeper friendly during our initial communication, we declined both the red envelope and the room booking offer, saying we could book our own room and only asked her to arrange for the scenic area shuttle to take us to the exit. However, when we asked for time to pack, she refused to wait, claiming the shuttle was out of service. (We later confirmed with the scenic area that there were staff on duty providing a shuttle service at night.) Even more outrageous, she attempted to force us to spend the night in a freezing cold room, citing "safety concerns." Since traveling downtown was unsafe, and there were numerous B&Bs within the scenic area, why didn't she offer to move us or contact other more welcoming B&Bs? 3. The room facilities were riddled with flaws, raising safety concerns. The next morning, we discovered even more problems: multiple leaks where the ceiling met the walls, and the gaps in the windows and door were so large you could stuff a towel through them. Worse still, the room door had a single latch and was connected to other areas of the scenic area, making it extremely unsafe. My companion and I felt unwell after spending the entire night in the cold. We honestly reported the issues to the housekeeper, but she not only refused to acknowledge the room defects but also yelled at us, even insulting us over the phone in the local dialect. When we tried to communicate politely, she flatly refused to communicate and called the police, falsely accusing us of causing trouble at the guesthouse. Even more ridiculous, when the police arrived, she turned the tables, falsely claiming we had called the police. Both the scenic area staff and the police were amused by her behavior—not only wasting police resources, but she also attempted to frame guests—absurd! 4. Poor housekeeper quality and disorganized B&B management This housekeeper is a complete double-dealer: initially polite, she turns hostile and utterly rude when problems arise. She calls herself the owner, then an employee, then a shareholder, her identity confusing and her actions inconsistent. If she were the owner, this management style is ridiculous; if she were an employee, she should have been fired long ago; and if she were a shareholder, she's truly screwed over by the other shareholders! Dealing with someone like this is sheer bad luck! Summary: Highly recommend avoiding this place! For a "high-end" B&B, the facilities, service, and management are appalling. The rooms are cold, the facilities are sparse, and there are numerous safety hazards. The housekeeper's attitude is rude and unprofessional, and their handling of the situation is truly appalling. This stay not only made us physically ill but also severely impacted our overall experience. I strongly recommend choosing this B&B with caution; don't waste your time and money on such a place!
