No effort was spared - on the envelope was a message in English as he realised my husband doesn't speak Chinese. Breakfast was again beautifully presented in the quaint courtyard. They helped us register to see the Baguo Building - we had no idea we have to pre-register. They helped bring our luggage down to town upon check out and gave us a lunch recommendation, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I am truly thankful for the level of service they have extended and I highly recommend this hotel!

This was an overnight on our way from Hong Kong to Wuyishan. We arrived at the hotel around 9.45pm, having followed Baidu's map to get there. My wife reads Chinese: I wouldn't have been able to navigate my way there in the dark without lots of trial and error, despite the careful directions the hotel sent, as the roads are tricky to find. The person manning the front desk raced down to open the gate to the property and was very helpful in getting us settled. The room was very simple but elegant, with a great shower space. We had some trouble figuring out how to get the air conditioner working, but the front desk came up immediately to help. Only negatives: the room is a bit dimly lit for my taste, and someone had left the bathroom window open which meant we had a visitor in the form of a mosquito. The grounds are lovely, and we wish we had more time to enjoy them. The breakfast space is beautiful, and they provide a set meal (standard in such boutique hotels), plus some sides on the buffet. My personal feeling was that several dishes in the set meal were a bit too salty, but that may be just me. Checkout was very smooth, and the staff offered to pack an afternoon tea for us.
