We had a family event planned for the weekend. This included room rentals , a private room with an amazing buffet, and all the hotel amenities. Chris Martin and all the staff including front desk staff , serving staff, and the kitchen staff made this event so memorable. We could not have asked for a more wonderful weekend. Thank you all! Big room, bright spotless bathroom, lots of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. TV & remote did not work well. Carpet was old and worn. Twice we had to order face cloths. The phone system did not work well, the ”messages” left for us did not register. Family and friends complained about the phones not working well. The restaurant not opening until 9:30 a.m. was inconvenient. The fact that at times it didn't feel very safe just outside the main door. That was unnerving. For many years we've enjoyed our stay at the Norwood but this time was disappointing.

Generally, this a very nice hotel and the price is amazing given its central location. The staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the modern feel of our room. We were well stocked with clean towels, and bedding was comfy and clean. As cons, you could tell looking at the nooks and crannies along the walls that a more thorough cleaning is needed soon. Housekeeping was also unavailable for two days of our stay due to staff shortages. While this didn't really affect us, and I do appreciate there are industry wide issues, it's something to keep in mind if you require daily cleaning. Truthfully, our biggest issue was the noise and disturbances outside that we heard at night. Again, this isn't the hotel's fault by any means but potential visitors should be aware. Although we only stayed 3 nights, I got woken up frequently by ambulances, police car sirens, racing cars, and once even by a 4am altercation outside on Portage. We were all the way up on the 14th floor. Ear plugs helped but it didn't dull out everything. So, if you're noise sensitive, maybe ask for a room facing Ellice or Hargrave? Parking at the nearby secured Indigo parkade is also $20/day so don't forget to factor that into your budgeting.

The disinfectant water in the hotel corridor tastes very heavy, and it also smells moldy. The room is generally hygienic, but this hotel has a super large water slide, very suitable for bringing a baby, parking is also convenient

We stayed here for a night on a quick family trip. Room wasn't bad, but did have a smoke smell even though it was a smoke free room. Hotel was fairly loud with a couple of volleyball teams staying there and teenaged girls stomping up and down the halls most of the night. Breakfast room was quite crowded, but the food was pretty good. Staff were super friendly upon check in. Overall, ok stay.

It was such a seamless experience for a short-term feeling home like stay. Val is such a gentle lady and really care for you as a special family member. You can find a home-made small piece of chocolate on your bed, enjoy the warmth of a cozy outdoor hot tub. See the photo. Feel like home is what they are trying hard every day to make you that footprint in every details that you will see in this rental property. I named it a value-for-every-penny experience that was hardly to hard from anywhere in the world, but a place to feel like home managed by 2 generous & warm-hearted women. I don’t want to write too much because probably I could not book them next time. LOL

I called a week earlier as I booked 2 rooms and requested joining rooms and late check-in. We only stayed a night, a total of 10 hours in this hotel. Did not even use their amenities as we were all tired. The customer service on the phone promised me that I will get the joining rooms when we get there, but when we came, the evening front desk guy told me that we cannot have it. First of all, he did not even tell me that I would not have the joining rooms, he just gave me the keys. It was when I asked if these are the joining rooms that I requested for when he told me no. I asked why, and after looking for explanation in his computer for over 2 minutes (I know because I saw him timing himself on his phone), he said the AC is down. I told him it was disappointing as after 14 hours of being in the road, this is just all my kids were hoping for. He just shrugged his shoulders and said ”when you come back here, look for me and I will give you your request” and said sorry. The morning when I checked out, the nice Asian front desk lady who I talked to over the phone apologized for what happened. She did not know why the guy did not give me what I requested for. She even told me that she made a note in the computer that I should have the joining rooms and their manager approved of it. I gave 3 stars just because of how the lady handled the situation and cleanliness. The front desk guy did not do his best and what we are always trained for in hospitality ”go above and beyond.” I do not want anything from this hotel, but I just wanted to let you know that they need a training for customer care. -- Oh, and no lotions provided in the bathrooms.

AMAZING! Take it from a well-seasoned traveler, this hotel has everything you need and more. From a courteous welcome from the evening hotel front desk agent, to a relaxing bed and refreshments available in the lobby 24/7, I think this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Breakfast was beyond amazing- hot options (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes), the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was great. The gym was great, hot tub also top notch. Another reason I liked this hotel was that it was very quiet- its not popular with kids and I love that. Most people lodging here are travelers passing by or workers who make for great neighbors. Everyone is fast asleep after what I presume must have been a hard days work or drive. The only con for me is that the location is too far west. But this is a pro for travelers coming off the perimeter. 5 STAR service at a super affordable price, a no-brainer. BOOK NOW!

This hotel is conveniently located opposite the airport. The internal facilities are clean and tidy. Very good stay experience. Will come again next time
