Puddle Duck Lodge – Adults Only

Just spent two nights at Puddle Ducks. The rooms are themed, ours was the Boathouse. The special touches in the fittings and furnishings are really lovely. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed and linen extremely comfortable. Lots of little extras provided. A nice change for us was the breakfast, delivered to the room in a wicker hamper all freshly prepared and delicious. Didn’t get chance to spend to in the garden unfortunately, but maybe next time!

What a truly charming place, from the beautiful garden to the themed rooms this place is an absolute treasure. Immaculate rooms, with every need catered for. I stayed with my twin daughters, I had the single room Herdwick and they shared The Boat House. Fabulous rooms both ensuite, cleverly designed and the decor is spot on. Very quiet surroundings and within easy walking distance of Lake Windermere. Our host was very charming and extremely helpful. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before and arrived presented in a stylish hamper, the food ( freshly baked breads, croissants, cereals and proper fresh fruits) was delicious. The service, delivered to your room at your requested time with a discreet knock and left outside your door, is faultless. If you are a fan of a continental breakfast then this place does it exceptionally well. You can even eat your breakfast at one of the tables in the garden if the weather is warm enough. From arrival to departure our stay was lovely, from the Peter Rabbit shirt hanging (a la Mr Mc Gregor ) in the delightful garden, to the impeccable rooms, the discreet but friendly surface, Puddle Duck lodge is in a class of its own.

I stayed in a single room with a private bathroom. Not ensuite but near enough not to matter. The place is spotless and really well looked after and maintained. All the little touches and details excellent. The breakfast choice was great and all delivered in a basket to your room. Perfect location.

This b&b is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing break in Bowness. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly owners and shown to our Beatrix potter room which was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The attention to detail was lovely, even a dish to place your tea bag and a mat to place your straighteners/hair dryer (very handy for me who is constantly straightening my hair!) also loved the idea of breakfast to the room such a nice concept and the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back.
