Best Hotels near D＇Oyly Carte Island, Weybridge

It looks like a historic hotel. It is very close to the highway. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to the center of the community. There are supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, and department stores. The service staff is friendly and the surrounding environment is beautiful. Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel. The conference facilities and rooms are very nice. The breakfast was gorgeous. Special mentions to Laura who was our concierge for my meeting on Thu 18th Oct and then happened to also serve me breakfast on Fri morning. What a fantastic individual, very attentive and friendly. Laura took the time to ask questions, have some chatter and see to our every need. Please pass on team Hable’s thanks!

Great stay with very friendly and welcoming staff. All right alongside the river, where you can enjoy your evening meal or a quiet drink. And you definitely won't go hungry at breakfast time. As someone famously said. I'll be back! 😀

We wanted a mini break for my family. The hotel is absolutely stunning,great facilities,restaurants.bar,spa .Grounds Ellie greeted us on arrival & showed us round .Such a lovely greeting made us feel very welcome.All the staff are very friendly & they make sure everything is perfect throughout your stay .Our food in moorish restaurant was again excellent.Staff gave us great service,making sure we had all we needed.The buffet is a great addition.All the food was absolutely delicious & very tasty. The spa experience was out of this world.Mia & jas showed us round & pointed us in the right directions for interior pool ,jacuzzi,sauna,steam room,outside pool . We also each had a full body massage.I have to say that was the best massage I’ve ever had .Great communication on needs ,right pressure.A definite must to de stress your body.Afterwards we relaxed in the Himalayan salt room .If your looking for a excellent hotel to stay in .You definitely won’t be disappointed. Over a weekend in late January 2022 my wife and I booked our three grown-up children and our grandchildren (a party of 13 in all) into the Warren Lodge Hotel, Shepperton, arriving on Saturday afternoon and leaving after breakfast on Sunday morning. It was not for any special occasion, just an affordable venue where we could all meet together in convivial surroundings after all the restrictions over Covid. What a delightful and happy experience. The hotel - a quaint, tucked-away, historic riverside inn with good quality modern bedroom accommodation and extensive riverside terraces - was a refreshing example of what hotels should be; neither overly-priced, characterless, pretentious, nor ultra-modern. The staff were as friendly and obliging as one could wish. I could say that nothing was too much to ask, but they went out of their way to see we enjoyed our brief stay. A four-course dinner in a private room on Saturday night was perfect yet breakfast on Sunday morning was unbelievable! No printed menu listing limited options you can have; just 'what would you like?' and everything and every combination of food came out just as ordered. What a stay! I thoroughly recommend the Warren Lodge to those who appreciate good value, good service and friendly accommodation.

We arrived and parking was good and nearby. As a disabled blue badge holder, there was a good amount of disabled bays and it was free when I presented my blue badge at reception. Check in was quick and efficient. Only one of the two lifts was working, but the hotel didn’t seem too busy so this wasn’t a problem. We had a room for 2 adults and a child, so a double bed and a bunk bed. The room was small, but we only needed it to sleep and so it wasn’t a problem. The cleanliness of the room wasn’t good. The floor was so filthy, that we just threw our socks away because of how black they were. The mattress on the single bunk bed was absolutely disgusting. I have attached photos. The sheet was just a piece of material folded in half, and wasn’t tucked in or anything which is how we noticed the dirty mattress. It was late when we noticed it, so I sent photos and an email to reception, who immediately offered us breakfast free of charge. We declined the breakfast as we already had reservations elsewhere, and we saw that breakfast was very poor with little on offer. The manager then replied and refunded our stay and cleaned the room. The management/reception team were lovely and sorted things swiftly. We would stay again and have stayed in many Ibis hotels, but I will be checking the cleanliness of them closely in future.

I don’t usually stay in Ibis hotels but this one is like no other ibis hotel I’ve stayed at. From the laid back informal reception area to the contemporary rooms this was a good overnight stay. I appreciated the welcome cookies. The room was spacious but clearly designed for short stays in regards to storage space. There’s USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and good to see the body soap and shampoo in dispensers rather than individual plastic bottles. The water though was only luke warm. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Location is excellent in the centre of town and just a few minutes walk to the station. The restaurant menu was limited but adequate for most tastes. My only complaint was the pulsing noise of the bathroom extractor fan which is independent of the air conditioning in the room and not able to switch off.

It is very convenient to get to the train station, there is a bus station opposite, quiet and quiet, and the room is clean and relatively new. It was only twelve in the morning, but the jamal at the front desk was very service-minded. I checked the existing rooms to check in, which made me check in early. Very good experience. The rooms are cost-effective and there are supermarkets and small shops in the surrounding area.
