We came to Fargo for my grandma’s funeral and stayed here for two nights. It was okay! THE GOOD: -Echo helped my mom and I book 3 rooms for our family over the phone, each with different needs. Echo was SO kind and patient, making us feel like she genuinely cared to help us. She even asked the reason for our stay and when we told her, she expressed condolences and offered us a discount. It was so nice. Echo was the true highlight of our experience with this hotel!! -Breakfast was okay. The fresh pineapple was incredible both days. It was so so so good. Whoever is picking out the fruit for the hotel is a star. This bit is partially on us: my husband is vegan AND super shy, so it was a bummer that there wasn’t any dairy-free milk out. I know there are places where you can request it, but there weren’t any signs out indicating that was the case. Again, since he’s reserved, he didn’t approach staff to find out. The milk they did have was in unlabeled metal pitchers, so you had to just kinda hope it was a kind you liked! Loved the Cap’n Crunch. The potatoes were good. -Our room was quiet and it was easy to change the temperature so we could be comfortable. We ended up with a double queen suite bc they were out of regular double queen rooms and we ended up using the seating in the living room and the dividing door more than we thought. Since we shared the room with my brother and his wife, we were able to go into the next room to change clothes while the other room was being used for shaving, makeup, etc. It was nice! The night before the funeral, we were able to have a total of 6 people in our living room space, which was nice for editing the eulogy together. I needed to work that night too, so the desk being in a different room than the living room with a door between was great for that too. -I received texts from the front desk asking how our stay was going, which was nice. I never had much chance to reply bc of the funeral and things, but it was nice. - the full sized fridge was nice! -my niece and brother in law enjoyed the salt water pool. -the list of things to do from their staff was really cute! Also liked the little card in the room key envelope that detailed when breakfast was and other hours was helpful. THE OKAY: - I needed to print copies of the eulogy to be edited by my family the night before the funeral, then needed to make more copies of the final draft to read at the funeral. The “business center” had two computers, but only one was working. It had one desk chair and a few lounge chairs. There was a girls hockey thing going on, so the lobby was suuuuper loud and the business center had no walls to dampen the sound at all. It was just right there next to the lobby! The printer was working! That was good! But it ran out of paper, and I ended up needing to wait behind two people checking in at the front desk to get more paper since there was only one person there. She wasn’t even sure she had printer paper in the back, s

Courtyard Fargo

Fargo|2.39km from Elmwood (South) Park
I spent the week working about three hours outside of Fargo. I’ve returned to the city to wait for my flight that leaves tomorrow. Of course I’m going to stay at the local Marriott wherever I am and this time it happens to be the courtyard in Fargo. I arrived after dark, but the location was well lit and prominent even from the expressway. I did take a little detour down the road and back up just to see what was close by. There are a ton of restaurants very close to this hotel. There’s also a Costco directly across the street. It looks like there is quite a bit more in this area, but being that it’s late and I just drove three hours. I decided to go ahead and check in to the hotel. either the hotel has been kept up very well or it is relatively new. The style is very pleasing on the outside. Parking was a breeze and there is ample parking spaces available. It looks to be what I believe a hospital on the other side of the parking lot but as of now I have not heard any loud noises from ambulances, etc. Once inside the decor definitely looks like it is a newer courtyard property. The decor is earth tones with a lot of very comfortable looking seating. There is also a very nice looking bar on the main floor. The staff member who checked me in tonight was super friendly. He was very helpful with giving me the location of everything within the hotel, as well as the hours for the bar and for breakfast in the morning. I was promptly given my key and directed towards the elevator. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a door to my left. The door seemed abnormally large, and for a moment, I thought that perhaps it was the door to the adjoining room & had been left open. However, it was actually the door to an enormous bathroom. The bathroom is well appointed, nice and bright, and has a gigantic shower. There was an over abundance of towels in the bathroom, and I don’t even believe that I requested extras for the stay. Further entry into the room revealed a nice king size bed, a great sofa and ottoman, a very big flatscreen TV, a mini fridge that is hidden in a cabinet, and a super long desk. This room is definitely meant for business travelers or those who travel with a lot of electronics. I love love, love love rooms with enough plugs so that I can charge all of my devices at once. I work in IT so I often travel with multiple laptops and many peripherals. Right now I have everything all set up so that I can get up in the morning and start work. On both sides of the bed, there is also ample places to plug in devices using both AC adapters as well as USB. If this is a new hotel, and this is the new style that Marriott is going with by putting so many ways to charge devices in rooms, I’m all for it. I ended up going back downstairs to grab something to drink and ran into the same friendly associate. I’m now chilling and having a drink and about to watch a movie. This courtyard is a 10 out of 10.

We stayed at this location for an overnight visit. The hotel room itself had a funky city vibe which we liked. There was a separate sitting area with a couch and tv- with a very large safe- and coffee bar area. There was also a separate tv facing the bed. The shower we had could use a new shower floor however. The floor was heavily chipped and felt gross to stand in. The glass shelves in the bathroom looked nice, but were absolutely covered in dust. Lastly, there was a poor design on whoever installed the toilet paper holder. The holder is literally on the same wall as the toilet tank, and about four inches off the ground- forcing you to turn around and lean down while using the toilet. Overall, would consider staying again in the future, but this was a bit pricey for what we felt we received- $200.00 a night, and breakfast was not included.
