It's close to Queen's Wharf. The rooms are large and tall. The outer building is very European style. Arrive, very good feeling, if the price can still be recommended
Best Western Wellington

The team were friendly and approachable. The room was very comfortable - our room was not ready and we were very early, but they saw to it that it was ready within an hour. Spacious, Clean and roomy, Couldnt wish for anything better. Will certainly recommend and if in Wellington again would stay at Best Western.

Marion hostel 🤭 Totally recommended to find a pretty hostel! This is a hostel :) It was right next to Kubi Street and located in the center of the city, so it was a great location to move around and sightsee~! And the hostel is neat, but there is a lot of smell on the sofa in the lounge on each floor. There's a pass ~ ㅎㅎ I stayed on the top floor, but I had a window on the roof and stayed on the second floor bed. I could see the sky while I was resting. It was so good :-) And the rooftop was art ~ The sofa right in front of the rooftop was good. what?

I have just had a one night stay at this hotel and splurged on a Junior Suite which was well worth it. The room was beautiful...better than the photos suggested which is really unusual!! Due to current low staffing levels (the bane of hospitality everywhere atm) they currently don't offer valet parking and this was the low-light of the stay. Obviously I completely understand the staffing issues but.... On arrival (at approx 10.30pm due to a 4+ hour ferry delay) I was dismayed to find the doors locked but staff were available to let me in. I unloaded and my bags were taken to my room and I had to park the car myself. Other than being really tired and not up for negotiating Wellington CBD's notorious one way system to get to the car-park, this was fine and not usually something I would gripe about. The car-park is actually directly attached to the hotel which is perfect, but I had to drive around the block in a counter-intuitive manner to get to the car-park. I knowingly drove the wrong way down a 1-way St to make my life easier as it was okay to do it at that time of night with deserted streets. An hour or so later I called for room service (several times) and no-one answered the phone on any occasion. I knew they were short-staffed so no problem, I wandered down to reception to order a meal. I had the chicken laksa which was nice. The midday check out was wonderful and check-out was seamless. But I had a major issue getting out of the car-park and I'm not sure if this is my fault or the Hiltons fault. On arrival I was given an information sheet regarding the parking and this included the exit code. I committed this to memory and off I went. However, on entering the code at the car-park exit point the barrier did not rise. Traffic built up behind me rapidly and my blood pressure and stress levels ramped up accordingly. I had the correct code and on subsequent attempts to get out, tried the code followed by the # key and also tried the code followed by the tick/green light key but no dice. I tried calling reception but got no answer and was just about in tears when a kind man (about 5 cars back on a narrow exit point in a typical inner city parking building) walked down and used his card to let me out. Thank god for him whoever he was. This was really stressful as I had been on the road for 2 weeks and was about to embark on the last leg of my journey and just didn't need the stress. I was particularly annoyed they did not answer the phone when I called. I called a 2nd time but by the time I got some-one on the phone the good samaritan had let me out. I definitely had the correct code to exit the car-park but was not aware I needed to press the tick/green key afterwards (although...I did try this and it didn't work... I may have entered this final step too late because I didn't know it was needed). I can't recall seeing this instruction on the info sheet I was given. Hence...it may have been my fault...or not?? Either
Quest on Johnston Serviced Apartments

I stayed at this property for 3 nights with my 2 Kids for a holiday to Wellington. We often stay in a Quest property in Auckland so I thought I'd give this one a try as well. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment on the 14th floor and my first impression was that it was very dated. At a guess I'd say that the building was built in the 50's (I work as a Builder) but its been renovated a few times since. The bathroom looks to be constructed in the early 90's and parts of the apartment have been updated more recently. It is a dark apartment and we needed the lights on most of the time we were there. Functionally it works, although the bathroom is very small, and the washer dryer didn't seem to be able to dry (after a few cycles) The kitchen is basic and has most things to cook a basic meal. It also has a dishwasher located in the lower part of the oven. All in all it was functional. The lobby and lifts had an extremely strong air freshener smell (i guess this may be for Covid?) not the most pleasant. The building has 2 lifts which is nice with this many floors and usable stairs. Front counter staff were pleasant and efficient, and the housekeeping staff were good. As far as cleanliness I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Generally the apartment was clean. There were a number of small things broken or not working, mostly general maintenance items. Our biggest issue was on the last night, my son thought he felt an earthquake when the door started rattling. However after I noticed this some time later I realised that it was the building swaying in the wind!!!! If you get sea sick this building isn't for you! it was so bad that I could see a toy car on the bedside moving back and forth. We all managed to get to sleep but it was certainly disconcerting. In the end both kids (9 and 13yo) asked not to stay again at this property. If I was on a tight budget, I'd consider staying again myself, but definitely not with my family.

Checked in late from a delayed flight. Reception was pleasant and handled our arrival professionally. Took a bit longer due to slow computer but he was always updating us on progress and was apologetic. Room was great. Full amenities and had four pillows in our king size bed! All fluffy and comfy. Quite room and since we arrived late, we got a check out extension which was really really nice. Location is center and walkable distance to many shops and restaurants. Would definitely use this hotel again.
