Hotel Schani Salon

Finding the hotel is not easy since it does not really have a “hotel entrance” but just a sign. Once you arrive, you need to press the bottom so that they open the door for you. Then take the elevator, which is an antique, and once you arrive, it looks like a bar. There is a coffee machine that offers free coffee and croissants. Reception is not warm but efficient. You have to let them know if you want your room cleaned otherwise they won’t do it. Room was dark even during the day. No toiletries offered, no slippers, shower cap, etc. There is a Nespresso machine but since there is a better machine at reception we did not take advantage of it. Reception area is lively. Upon leaving, the girl working that shift was nice for a change. She helped us with identifying the right train station and where to call the Uber. The best aspect of this hotel is the location hands down. Otherwise, it is highly overpriced for what it offers.

A super hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the availability of tea and coffee throughout he day. The location is ideal for getting to see the sights and visiting local bars and restaurants. We would definitely return and highly recommend.

If you like boutique hotels and being in the middle of shopping and cool neighbourhoods, this is the hotel for you. The only downside was the insanely expensive breakfast. Superfriendly and helpful staff and lovely rooms.

The Hotel Schani Salon would be a considered an Inn in the Eastern United States, and in other areas a boutique hotel. Lodging doesn't get much better than this hotel. The hotel staff are very sincere, friendly, and helpful. I think we met each of the workers, and all the staff members make you feel very welcome. Our family of 4 booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were on opposite sides of the lobby, and both rooms were perfect. The rooms are compact, but there is more than enough space for 2 large suitcases and still room to walk around. The rooms are immaculate! The bed and the bedding are very comfortable. One cannot hear the guests in the neighboring rooms. The lobby is very welcoming. We sat and enjoyed some treats we brought back to the hotel. We did not purchase breakfast as we felt it was overpriced. There are many nearby options to get an inexpensive breakfast. The hotel is on a walk street, and while there are some cars, it is always quiet in the hotel. We found dinner nearby on Christmas and we walked to the Christmas Markets the following night. The Metro is nearby to get outside the city. There are some homeless sleeping in the entrances to nearby businesses. Sadly this can be found in many parts of the world. We never felt unsafe. We highly recommend this hotel for an authentic Vienna experience.

Excellent hotel in a very convenient location-easy walk to the most tourist attractions, museums and Christmas markets. The room was nice with comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. The staff is polite, very friendly and helpful. There was a Nespresso machine in the room. The breakfast was lovely. Metro station is outside the door.
