Awful, dirty and run down. Bathrooms were appalling. Male owner more interested in sunning himself all day on the patio than cleaning the pool or the lounge furnitures. Rudest hotel owners ever. Do not speak a word of english or german. We had 2 rooms, both equally dirty and run down. This is hostel quality, not a 3 star hotel Btw we stayed there Sept 2023 for a family event. Never again

I have waited several months before posting a review of our stay wanting to be certain I wasn’t just reacting in full anger. That said I am going to give highlights only to save time. This hotel was Closed upon arrival at 2pm despite information saying otherwise. Staff often absent despite posted schedule. Surly. Be prepared to lug luggage up a lot of stairs. Car parking is good and view is nice. Facility is in need. Would never stay here again. Biggest disappointment of a long trip through France. Please look elsewhere.

My partner booked and paid for this hotel as a birthday surprise , I was extremely disappointed! The cleanliness of the room was diabolical and the staff/hosts rudeness was unparalleled to any other hotel I’ve stayed in, to say the least! !I have visited Vence many times but this was, without doubt, the worst hotel I have stayed in. Avoid at all costs !

We booked the last room in the hotel, not because of cost, because it was the last room. What a mistake! The room was filthy - there was a dirty gap in the corner where there were lots of spider. There weren’t any plug sockets - I bent down on the floor and came away with 7 bites which I think came from fleas. There was a huge machine which I think was a fan The decor is old and dirty and I felt grubby even walking into the room. I wish I had taken photos of the room but only have the front entrance. This is the fifth place we have stayed on this visit to France. Without exception, everyone before has been professional and friendly. Here the hotelier was aggressive from the moment we walked in and was only interested in making sure we knew the code to get back in at night as they wanted to go home. After a long argument, ******* and the owner agreed that we would be moved to another hotel. Be very careful of this hotel. This room should not be sold to anyone.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect here - the pictures looked a bit dated but it was the only place in the area we could find a family room for a night near(ish) Nice airport. The family room is actually in a separate annex building right by the pool, with a little garden and table area outside. There are two rooms (a double with a small kitchenette and ensuite, and a twin). The pool looked lovely with a great view. We didn't try it as we were only on a brief overnight stay. We didn't have breakfast as it didn't start until 8am on a Sunday and we needed to be away about then. It costs extra anyway (14 euro per adult, child rate depending on age). Its a 5 minute walk to the centre of Vence, which is pretty with nice restaurants.

This hotel is very dated 80s decor. No plug for the bath although didn't look very inviting, not all windows opened in the room. Breakfast was expensive at 14 euros each. Staff not very friendly or helpful.

There is far more to like about this charming, spectacularly located hotel, than the is to quibble about. The 270° view from the terrace is breathtaking and on a balmy evening with a chilled glass of wine from the adjacent bar, there are very few experiences to compare. The swimming pool is delightful and is cleaned scrupulously. The decor and furnishings are faded and are somewhat dated and are either ‘scruffy’ or ‘shabby’ depending on your perspective. We tended towards the latter and would be inclined to add ‘chic’. Vence which is a leisurely ten minute stroll away is a quintessentially Provençal town. We ate and drank some of the best food and wine available and every evening was different. Our hosts were delightful but their English is limited and I’d recommend that anyone visiting. who has limited French (as do we) should look up a few helpful phrases. Our visit unfortunately coincided with the hotel’s cleaner being taken ill. This meant the room wasn’t serviced every day for which the hotel owner apologised profusely. We enjoyed a very pleasant week in Vence and we hope the young couple running this charming hotel are successful and are able to make the changes that (we’re sure they know) are necessary. We look forward to that happening and would then keenly anticipate a return.

Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were pleasant and efficient and provided a very good breakfast. Views from rooms and the spacious terrace (with a bar) we're just superb. Just sorry we didn't have time to use the pool. (Also reviewed in Booking)
