Wonderful 250 yr old 3 level haveli converted into excellent hotel with period decore & furnishings, good bathroom, hot water, historical photos and a garden courtyard & clean swimming pool overlooked by a ggod small restaurant & upstairs bedrooms with balconies. And not to forget Tom 1 and Tom 2, the 25 & 15 year old pet Leopard tortoises who live in the garden by the pool and like tomato and cucumber for breakfast. Hotel is half km from southern entrance to City Palace & opposite huge quiet Gulab Barg "botanic park" with a bird park which includes an Australian emu enclosure! Park also has old home of British Resident to Udaipur Court which is now a library and has a large statue of the Emptess of India herself, Queen Victoria, standing quietly in a long gallery amidst dusty bookcases. Thank you Hukam & Mili at reception and Prabu in the restaurant for a memorable 3 nights.

Absolutely stunning pool and garden. Loved this place. Lovely staff and udaipur is an excellent location. Breakfast was generous and served in garden. Location also very good as you can walk to lakeside restaurants. Manager is really nice and extremely helpful. All 👍

One of our favourite hotels of our trip through Rajasthan. Hotel very nicely decorated, beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Nice garden and pool area. Staff friendly. Location of the hotel is a short walk from the city palace. Breakfast was ok with some nice live music.

We were excited to return to HMP after 13 years but were very disappointed. The hotel has lost its shine and is a shadow of its old self. Needs an upgrade. We arranged a pick up and picked in a cab with no seat belts for passengers at the back. As soon as we arrived we were asked to pay up for our stay. Our first experience of this practice plus the receipt said we were satisfied with our stay. Bad practice. Not everything is the hotel’s fault. Once located on a street where it was easy to walk out and stroll ***** shops etc, it is now noisy with heavy traffic and polluted. Staff need training. They were helpful but many did not speak English and frequently hung around for tips. A box for tips which can be shared by all staff might be useful Good reasonably priced laundry service. Both taxi and laundry service is contracted out and has to be paid in cash. Not alway convenient. Rooms are clean. But safe and fridge was not working. The bathroom flooded every time we showered. Not pleasant. But perhaps the biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Cheap and poorly prepared. If you want masala chai, you had to pay for it. Not so in all other 3 star hotels we stayed in. It was also rather chaotic when busy. They had a swimming pool but it was cold. Outdoor sitting area was nice with two little turtles coming to say hello. Grass needs attention. Bills for food etc was written out on bits of paper. Rather odd practice in such a hotel. Shame but unlikely to return.

One of the best hotel experiences I have had. Hotel has a mix of haveli style architecture with modern amenities and is perfect for a Rajasthan visit. Great location, nearby City Palace and Lake Pichola. They also help arrange for outstation and Udaipur travel when needed (paid for separately), and even that is really good! They even offered to pack breakfast for our travels which is something I have never come across in hotels! Truly a wonderful place to stay!

Lovely property with lots of character. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms unique. We loved the old world feel. The staff was caring and helpful, always attending to our every need. Dinner was delicious in the courtyard as we sat in candlelight. Only a few steps away from shopping and the city palace. This place was a hidden gem. I would stay here again and would most definitely recommend.
