Residenza il Barone

We loved our stay at Residenza Il Barone! The location is perfect, right in the historic center and close to the beach. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight, with fresh local ingredients and amazing views. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful throughout our stay. A true gem in Tropea, highly recommended!

Everything was great... severio was very good to us. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful every morning the 6 days we were there. He gave us gems to go see while we were there. All of his suggestions were 5 star. The location was spot on in the middle of everything.. its a family run buisness and you can tell they care about it. Its there life. Beautiful building with alot of history. Highly recommend this to anyone looking. Joel

A wonderful place to stay! Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the residences are clean and breakfast on the rooftop was exceptional. The location in town is perfect for exploring Tropea. I highly recommend staying at this residence when visiting.

We have stayed for the third time in this excellent appartment, situated in the centre of the old part of Tropea. The host, Saverio, is very kind and helpful, the breakfast staff extremly friendly and amicable. The rooms in an old historic building, just a corner away from the main square of the centre, are modern, very clean and well equipped. Breakfast is served on a roof terrace, with great views over old Tropea. As long as there is no live band playing on the main squaire, it is very silent, as the old part of Tropea is practically a car-free zone.

We spent four nights at Residenza il Barone and had a great time. First, Saverio; he is the perfect host. He is polite, patient, and very helpful. He communicated with us by WhatsApp before we arrived and sent clear instructions of how to find the hotel from the train station. He had many recommendations for restaurants [fyi, we enjoyed the Forno Vecchio, and Il Convivio], and guided us on how to find a particular beach we wanted to go to [Spiaggia di Michelino - which was definitely worth the 45 minute walk from Tropea]. All round very decent guy who does his job extremely well. He even lent us an umbrella one day [though we didn't need it in the end!]. We stayed in the Junior Attic room which was spacious, clean and comfortable with a good shower and bathroom ensuite. The free loan of beach towels is a bonus, as is fresh bottled water every day. Wi-fi in the room wasn't always reliable but you can find it on the main staircase if you don't mind hanging around on the landing. Breakfast on the roof terrace is lovely, served by the wonderful Mrs Lizy and Mrs Francesca. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast, croissant, coffee and/or tea, fruit juices, water, omelettes etc. Overall, we had a great stay, and the Residenza Il Barone is perfectly located in Tropea's old town being close to shops, restaurants, concert venues etc. Also worth a mention is the nearby Minimarket da Pina where we bought daily supplies of cheese, olives, vegetables, and gorgeous dried figs stuffed with either walnuts or almonds. Beautiful rooms, clean, location was Center to everything. Saverio was very kind and helpful. Gave us some pointers where to go.The (2) ladies who served us at breakfast were very friendly, great breakfast. We felt very welcomed. Would definitely go back.
