Trieste 411 - Rooms & Apartments

Trieste|0.24km from Casa Zaninovich
There are quite limited options shown on the pages and travel blogs on things to do in trieste. There are several wonderful things to do in trieste apart from visiting castles and cathedrals and museums only. There are a number of public transport yachts during summer time which run between several stations such as from trieste port to barcola to grignano to sistiana....also from trieste to Muggia. These ferries take 25-35 minutes to reach at any of these mentioned destinations. So u may go and see the fairytale towns and comeback by ferry or by bus. It gives wonderful experience via ferry on an economical price of around 4-5 euros (one way). There is also a ferry that goes to trieste port to croatia on a reasonable price which takes two hours to reach the destination. There are several italian food places but the one I would like to mention is eataly. It gives u options to buy italian food products. It is a kind of food mall where u may buy food and there is also a food court where u can dine-in. There is a big cave Groto Gigante, you may check the timings and ticket prices online. It is a must visit place when u visit trieste. Trieste has wonderful beaches spots. You may easily find shallow and deep water spots fo swimming along the beach of barcola point. You may also dine-in at a sailing club by simply making a reservation if you want to have an experience of typical italian fresh food. There are several gelaterias in the city but there are a few which serves the best such as zampoli gelateria near the ghega bus station, a 3 min walk from the central station shall give u the best taste of italian gelato in the city.

I was in this BNB for a night with my boyfriend, the location is his strong point, two steps from the station and near the sea and the center, great to visit everything walking in a day. We appreciated the self-check in which allowed us to get and manage independently. The palace is ancient and inevitably smells strong when you enter, but the rooms and common spaces are modern and well maintained. The facility offers a hot drink and caramel machine to welcome guests, while breakfast products are always available in the kitchen. There are posters on each desk that indicate their content and maps of the city with the tourist attractions. The room is spacious and well maintained, with an additional couch and covers in the box, if necessary. The comfortable and soft bed, the new and quality beds and the double glasses perfectly insonorize external noises. The bathroom, in our case, was private but outside the room, also clean and with a powerful phone (very useful if you have long hair), soap for hands and two different types of shower shampoo. The handwheels are also available, and we would like to advise anyone who wants to stay in this beautiful city. The only advice from us would be to make available a salty breakfast alternative, as the sweet choice is much more than abundant. ☺️

We found this cosy hotel well priced and oh so quiet and certainly a 5 star rating for the price. All the staff spoke excellent English and were unfailingly courteous. There’s a lift that helps if you have heavy luggage to manage. I think we paid around £80 a night for two and their help yourself breakfast came in at less than a fiver each. Brekky was ace - great coffee, juices, hams and cheeses, 3/4 varieties of jams, croissants, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and I’m sure I’ve left stuff out. The bedroom was well furnished, the shower could get to super hot and the entire place was spic & span clean. It’s pretty central and a 5 or so minute walk to the James Joyce statue in one direction and about the same the other way to the main Trieste train station. But now I must note my gratitude to the folks who work here. This was 5 star priceless. I arrived here weak and ill, discharged from a local Trieste hospital after 40 hours, having been food poisoned on an MSC cruise ship and dispatched from their ship hospital (where I was very well treated) to the hospital. My wife on the other hand was left by MSC to struggle on the dockside as the Armonia sailed away, just as the sun set, with most of our luggage still aboard. That’s a whole other story and we did re - board ship a week later in Venice. The only reason the ship docked in Trieste was high winds in Venice. On early morning arrival here from hospital to check-in we were offered cappuccinos and pastries while our room was prepared and it turned out these were complimentary. They knew we were coming and that I’d been hospitalised. Thereafter they helped us beyond our ability in words to thank them for all their kindnesses. I mean if Italy has an honours system for those who help others these gentle people deserve to be top of the list. One day I needed a doctor to get a fit to travel certificate and the young man at reception put in 14 phone calls for me including waiting on call backs. Over an hour later he achieved what I needed - just pause to think about this - over an hour and he dealt with other calls and guests too. What he did we simply could not have achieved by ourselves. My wife and I were just stunned at this humanity which came with a smile. Then he announced he needed a coffee and promptly proceeded to make all three of us cappuccinos offering fruit and pastries again all on the house. They translated for us, including medical papers, organised many taxi rides including one to Venice and could not have done more. So we can’t recommend here strongly enough. We truly were in great need and they delivered 100% and y’know we’ll never forget the humanity and all we could do was say thank you and we said it a lot.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was substantial with plenty of choices available. During the day the breakfast room also serves as the hotel guest lounge. There are complimentary pastries, tea and a coffee machine available here for hotel guests throughout the day. It is a relaxing place to sit and refresh. The hotel staff are friendly, polite and helpful. In front of the hotel is a small shop where you can buy a 24 hour bus ticket for three euros. Many of the local sites are accessible using public transport. There are plenty of restaurants surrounding the hotel. It is a five minute walk to the the old town.

Hotel near the station in an old building of 5 floors with lift .recently paid but too austere.room with safe refrigerator and air conditioning and street view to a conservatory with piano tests continuous, nothing unpleasant by the way. There are no shoes in the bathrooms and tables,in the shower no one to leave the spoon little gel and champagne and too much towels clean shoes.monotonous breakfast in Italian style...packed dish and something of fiber, bad coffee and water juice ...By the way, beds are comfortable but not coats ...to spend a few days isn't bad.

Nice 3 stars hotel in the center of Trieste. Staff were not particularly friendly but they were extremely professional. Breakfast was great and the man in charge of the breakfast room was very friendly. Room and shower somehow small. For a short stay this is a great place.
