Shibuya
This was a great hotel to stay in for the duration of two nights. I would definitely go back when I visit Shibuya again. I loved that the hall had paintings. Everything you need is provided in the room and if you need extras like razor blades or cotton swabs, the front desk if happy to accommodate you with as well.
Dormy Inn EXPRESS Meguro-Aobadai Hot Spring

BEWARE Not recommended for solo females OR couples with females! I chose this place because of the listed spa amenity. It says separate areas for men and women. FALSE that is a lie! There is 1 area only, and separate DAYS for men and women. Men get 5 days (weekdays), women get 2 days (weekends). I arrived Sunday night, and the lady took so long to check me in and finally got to explaining the spa at which point I said, wait, so I only have 20 minutes now to use the spa? She said ”Sorry, 15 min sorry” So I had to rush, while she was still talking to me about the ramen I don't care! So I got to use the spa for 10 min! So I booked another hotel, Super Hotel I stayed at before that I know has 2 separate areas and the spa is open ALL night until 9am. I asked Dormy to give me a refund because of the false advertising. Of course they say sorry no. I would not have stayed there if I had known this. Seeing that I was a single female booking they should have notified me. And what I really cannot tolerate is gender inequality. I know this is a more male dominate society, but that is old and backwards and I do not support that type of thinking. Please do not support this gender inequality! If you are a woman, this is NOT the hotel for you. Location is also weird and not much to walk to. Who cares about the Starbucks you can get that anywhere. I left first thing in the morning, I don't care if I lost money on it, I wasn't going to stay there a minute longer.

Shibuya
Very cute, warm , small and petite lobby . Lobby would be the size of a large bedroom with a small sit out ( about 2 sofas) and desk . People at the desk are super friendly . Most can understand English at the desk and one of the front desk lady speaks impeccable english ( she stayed in US for few years ). I stayed in such a small room for the first time. If you are travelling with 2 suitcase, there is probably no space to put both of them. I didnt like the bed though : wrought iron bed , bit creaky and shaking. I personally like beds that you can sit and lean on while reading ... not possible here. The room lighting is very dim and i have never seen such small bathrooms/ shower before. The railway station is 10 minutes walk, many eateries right in front ( local japanese, turkish, Indian, american diner, Thai food ... most options available ). Shibuya

Booked this for the convenience and that it was available last minute but would say it’s a bit pricey for what you get. Room is very small but we made it work with 2 big luggages. Washroom was spacious though 😂 The best part about the hotel was the onsen/ public bath which was super comfortable and relaxing (hot bath, cold plunge, sauna, showering stations) and you get free popisicles and yakult depending on what time you go. Free ramen on the first floor from 9:30-11pm too. Service was okay. Location was prime and walkable but a bit of a walk to any station. They do have scooter and e-bike rentals out front with the LUUP app. You can hear the train nearby but didn’t really bother us overnight.
Shibuya Creston Hotel

Shibuya
We enjoyed our three night stay at the Shibuya Creston Hotel. We arrived early prior to our designated check in time and the front desk were kind to keep our baggage in their possession. Upon our return, our bags were ready in our assigned room. Check in was very prompt and all staff were courteous and polite with first class Japanese hospitality. Please note it is common for hotels to ask for and take a photocopy of your passports during registration. Note that the property will also collect a city tax upon arrival, so do not be alarmed of this small added cost. Location is amazing and is a perfect walking distance to all of the hotspots in Shibuya as well as the train terminal. As a security measure, the front desk control all keys (physical metal lock manual type) and cross reference your name to the room. We found it simple and convenient as it does not require us to lug around keys as well as it employs an added measure of security. Room was generally clean overall; despite not being renovated to modern standard, we could tell they showed great effort and professionalism in keeping good order. We stayed at multiple hotels during our visit to Japan, and we can tell the difference between old and clean versus old and dirty. The room includes disposable slippers, use of nightwear, bidet with heated seat and complimentary bottled waters for each night of our stay. Despite the drawbacks of being a dated hotel and smaller room, we felt it was tremendous value for the Shibuya area if location is important, the room rate is fair for the area and staff were exceptional. On our Japan trip, we spent most of our days sightseeing and little time in the room, so this was a perfect spot for us to rest for the next day of adventures. For these reasons, this property comes highly recommended! Please indicate if you found this review to be helpful as it will allow me to better focus my future review efforts.
