We were scammed by Agoda. We booked 2 rooms on December 29-30,2024 The rooms costed $511.50 which I paid online. However i got a message that the rate was not available according to Svaatma. The price went up so Agoda sent me a message to book at a higher price $588. I got confirmation mail only for the second booking.My Agoda app shows only one booking fir $588. When we showed up Svatma representative told us there are 2 bookings for a total of 4 rooms. They refused to refund us the $511.50. I have reported this scam to Amex and to Agoda. Till now they have not responded saying that the hotel is unresponsive.

We live in North America and are visiting Tamilnadu. Have stayed at 3 different hotels and have been extremely pleased with our stay, service and food until we came to this hotel. Not sure who has given this hotel a 5 star rating. Pathetic food- I ordered a cheese pizza and after one bite, I could not eat it. Still had to pay full price for the pizza. The food was greasy, undercooked and smelled bad. The rooms are old, smelly and had to complaint about the odour in the room and in the corridor few times. The room service was substandard. Did not leave any amenities in the bathroom. When we complaint, the only thing the manager Balaji would say is I am sorry. Also there were lizards in the room. My wife could not sleep for 2 nights thinking she was staying at Jurassic park. Don’t recommend anyone to stay here. Also noted that the last response that came from the Hotel was about 5 months ago on any of the feedbacks provided by guests. Lack of any feedback clearly shows that they don’t give a damn about their guests. Another reason not to stay here.

The 5* hotel that likes to say: No to money change No to electrical safety No to English after 9pm No to spice in the curry but Yes to high prices - beer US10 I was shocked by the off-hand staff, even the manager did not seem to care if I wrote an adverse report.

Food average with poor choice for breakfast. Table linen stained and restaurant staff clueless. Bedroom fine but shower revolting with most of the grouting covered in black mould. Bar unstaffed as was reception in evening and morning. Either suffering from very poor management and lack of staff training or in financial difficulties. Do not stay here unless a radical overhaul has taken place.

Hotel promises a lot but fails to deliver. Service poor (understaffed), badly maintained, cleanliness a real issue ( thick layer of dust under our bed), WiFi patchy, gym equipment didn’t work, food very average…. Svatma needs to seriously up its game, as the buildings and setting have so much potential. Until then avoid.

Setting good but service really slow, meal in restaurant took forever and very average when it arrived. Rooftop bar unstaffed and had to go off to find barman, who was clueless, 2 drinks cost more than entire meal. Within walking distance of centre of city.

This hotel was quite disappointing: all in all a basic 3 star hotel. The rooms are functional, but uninspiring(cleanliness an issue)The staff are friendly enough, but difficult to communicate with and the service is agonizingly slow and the food in the evening just a basic curry buffet. We were glad to only be staying one night

Hotel rooms, public areas etc are fine. Unfortunately though very few staff. and as a result currently been waiting for my starter and a drink for an hour.. Restaurant is very busy and every table complaining about delays. Vegetarian food is only option and it’s not great Feel sorry for the few staff who are having to cope with the chaos. If you stay here eat somewhere else.
