The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. However, there was absolutely nobody that spoke any English there, even though it is advertised as a Spanish and English speaking hotel (plus the signage is in Spanish and English). As a single woman travelling across the world alone I specifically looked for an English speaking hotel, because my Spanish is not great. I couldn't converse with anyone because nobody understood a word of English. In addition to that, a member of staff was extremely aggressive towards me because I couldn't understand what he was saying. At that point I was strongly considering walking out and leaving early. I felt so uncomfortable there that I decided to cancel my next trip to Tarapoto.
