Hotels in Songshan Station Area, Taipei

My wife and I recently stayed at the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel. We had a good time. Upon our arrival we entered with a lot of luggage because from Taipei we would be flying on to the Philippines for a long stay. Thankfully the very nice security guard on the ground floor offered to contact the upstairs front desk and moments later we were helped with our luggage by the very kind Michael Mao. He went beyond the call of duty in giving us personal help with our luggage and allowing us to check in earlier than usual. My wife was surprised by how large the room was and so was I. Very comfortable setup. We didn’t have a view of Taipei 101 but the other side of the building is nice as well. The only problem was that all three days of our stay, the weather was very gloomy with occasional rain. Thanks to Michael for helping with food suggestions, shopping info for my wife and great instructions on how to access the Hop On Hop Off, etc. Unfortunately, we ended up not using the Hop On/Off bus because the schedule is really not great for tourist. Availability of the bus isn’t good. Michael explained that this was mostly due to those Covid years. Perhaps in the future the Hop On/Off will be back to normal as I think most tourist around the world are used to taking advantage of it just to get a quick view of the entire city. I will say that the best form of travel around the city is definitely the subway, which is probably the easiest to use in the world. Its super clean and convenient. Also, as great as the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel is, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention something that others have made mention of and that is the breakfast. Unfortunately, its not a great selection and not very flavorful. I’m one of those people who never adds salt to my food once its cooked. With this breakfast, I was shaking the salt shaker constantly. Also, I think employees/chefs should be encouraged and allowed to be a little more improvisational, if you will. I witnessed several times where someone asked if their eggs could be cooked “sunny side up” but the chef only pointed to the sign with two choices, scrambled or omelette. Sunny side up is not hard to do and probably takes less time to make than an omelette. Also, there’s a sign that says pancakes but in front of this sign is a plate filled with waffles. I assumed that you had to ask for pancakes so when I did, the chef pointed at the waffles. That sign should be changed to waffles only or offer both, which in my opinion would be the better option. Pancakes and Waffles. The area where breakfast is served is very nice and spacious. They should really try harder to make the breakfast just as exceptional. Beyond that, I still very much recommend this hotel as a number one option. Its a great location, the city link is right across the street and the Raohe night market is not far away at all. Green World ZhongXiao offers a convenient and comfortable stay, with the metro station just steps away and several 24-hour stores nearby. The room I stayed in was spacious, very clean, and well-lit with adjustable lighting options to suit your preference. The bed and pillows were plush and supportive, ensuring a good night's sleep. I was also impressed with the fast and reliable wifi connection, perfect for both work and leisure. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to satisfy every palate. Overall, Green World ZhongXiao is a great choice for those seeking a hassle-free and enjoyable stay in Taipei.

Rooms were clean and spacious however gave 3 stars for amenities because the bed was so stiff and hard. Not comfortable for 5 star hotel listing.

The same excellent service and hospitality as the first time I was here in the late 80s when it was still the iconic Lai Lai Sheraton. Thank you for going the extra mile to make my wife’s birthday memorable with the extra arrangements. Special mention goes to Ellen and the front desk team for taking great care of us.

The train station is beside hotel,very convenient. There is convenience shop nearby also. The room is consider big! We booked a room for 3 pax, there is still large space for us to walk and put luggage. The shower and toilet bowl area is separated, so when you use toilet bowl area it is dry. A very nice design. The vanity area to dress up is very large also. Love the big space that given. Great thing about this hotel, it has Starbucks in their building! I will definitely recommend my friends & family to stay here.

Amazing experience in this hotel, location wise is great. Very close to mrt station (Ximen), or about 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station. It is also walking distance to ximending area. So many shopping and food. The hotel was rustic with industrial architecture, room was good, and the water pressure was awesome. As for breakfast, yes they serve the same menu everyday, but what do you expect? When traveling, try the local food.

Very convenient location with good amenities and restaurant nearby. Xiaonanmeng Mrt station within 8-10mins walk to hotel. 1 station away from Ximending and Chang Kai Sek Memorial Hall. McDonald's and Decathlon opposite hotel. Service staff are very polite and attentive. Special mention to Ms Vivien who was seen attending to guests at morning buffet breakfast and serving food when the serving staff were occupied.

We recently stayed at the Shangrila Far Eastern in Taipei in one of their family rooms, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. It brought back such fond memories, as my wife and I stayed here over 20 years ago, and it’s heartwarming to see that the hotel continues to uphold its high standards. The family room was spacious, modern, and perfectly suited for our family. The kids loved having their own space, and the thoughtful touches in the room made it a comfortable retreat for all of us. The hotel's location is fantastic, offering easy access to the city's main attractions. Whether we were out exploring or enjoying the stunning views from the hotel, everything felt effortless. It was nostalgic and special to return here, and we loved watching our kids enjoy the same level of service and luxury we did all those years ago. The memories we've made this time, as a family, will surely last a lifetime. Highly recommend this hotel for families looking for a mix of luxury, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. It's a typhoon day in Taiwan, all shops are closed, super windy that day. No choice but nowhere to go. Front desks are very accommodating, since last minute I did a room, and a lot of cancel room thats why I was able to get one, due to the said typhoon. Big room, huge beds, and a sort of mini dining table. Basically, it's so spacious. Corridors are big, and the design of the hallway overlooking the dining area is nice. But better with good signs of the room designation, if not, you might get lost. The hotel is very convenient with a convenient store beside it. MRT, Arena, shopping mall is just right the corner. Recommend for next stay. 我们在这里住了几晚。刚好入住时台风天，所有商店都关门了，那天风超大，别无选择，无处可去，住能留在饭店。 前台小姐非常热情，因为我临时多订了一间房，而且有很多人取消了房间，所以我才能订到，因为台风，不然爆满刚好当天‘’大明星开演唱会‘’’ 房间很大，床也很大，还有一张迷你餐桌。基本上，房间很宽敞。走廊很大，设计也很好，但美中稍有不足，最好走廊能有好的房间指示牌，不然你可能会迷路。 酒店非常方便，旁边有便利店。捷运、Arena、购物中心就在拐角处。 总言，饭店不错，值得再来住。

It is a wonderful hotel in the Taipei city,I love the surroundings,a lots of tress and also a few trails to the Main Street. I had a wonderful time in the hotel, I hate to leave it and I wish I could stay longer.this hotel treats tons of guests everyday,so make sure to be prepared for the weekend crowd.the breakfast is great,however the dinner is over priced with unpleasant food in my own opinion. I highly recommend you to go to Shilin night market hunt the local food.the hotel employees are very helpful and polite.the hotel offers free shuttle buses to connect between the hotel and Yuanshan MRT.overall this hotel worth to stay.
