Find the Cheap Taipei Hotels

It wasn't easy to find a place home away from home. Due to the Covid 19, the Taipei CDC requires 14-days quarintine in a certified hotel. Horizon Inn is one of them. I contacted and compared a few. Horizon's customer service was impactable. They connected with me immediately. Walked thru CDC requirements and steps to follow. They helped me navigate the process and answered all my questions before confirmed my reservation. I arrived at the hotel at 6 AM - before checked in - the breakfast was waiting. The room is exactly like in the picture, spotless and quiet. I choose my meals from their 5 pages menu. I can't say thank you enough for them to make my lock-down a great experience.

The hotel has a lot of wear and tear and did not look like the clean, modern hotel in the pictures. The carpet in the common area on my floor was heavily stained and the mirror that greeted me when the elevator opened was in a sad state of disrepair (the ”L” in ”Love” was basically gone). For some reason, a chair with alcohol spray was placed next to the elevator. In my room, there were stains on the walls, one of the electricity outlets was so dirty I didn't dare plug my laptop charger into it, there was a foul smell from the bathroom, and the motor in the AC unit made a loud sound. Soundproofing is very poor and you can hear activities in other rooms very clearly. I stayed here on a cold, rainy day so I turned on the heat through the climate control console in my room. At almost 10 pm I got a call from the front desk staff with a strange request that I turn off the heat. They told me that my AC/heat was connected to the room next to mine and the other guest didn't want heat. While the staff did bring a small portable heater to my room, in 20+ years of traveling all over the world, I have never stayed in a hotel where I was told I couldn't set the temperature in my own room through the in-room controls because my AC/heat controlled the AC/heat in another room. I cannot fathom how a hotel operator could think it's OK for an issue like this to not be fixed. While I didn't expect luxury at this price point, the room rate I paid was not reasonable for the quality of the accommodations.

Very good, already visited twice. Although it is a time-honored restaurant, the service quality is excellent. You can enjoy free ice cream while waiting. The location is also very close to the MRT station, which is great.

After an extended stay (41days), I summarize my experience here. #1. Location: it is less than 5 mins walking distance to Taipei MRT. More importantly, this is a transfer station of red and yellow lines. And one stop from this station, you can hop on blue, green, or brown. This means you can connect to all five main lines within one station tranfer. It offers you a great way to start your day touring around this metropolitan city. #2. Facility: the room is clean, the mattress maybe on the soft side (but it might be my personal preference). There is the famous Toto washlet. Besides one particular room selection, there is only shower no tub. The water flow and temperature are consistent. #3. The breakfast. This hotel offers buffet style breakfast, including simple continental, simple salad bar, and traditional Taiwaneses breakfast with porridge. The staffs are so proud of the buffet breakfast (and I agree this is something they should brag about). The coffee is freshly brewed with good beans. The chef carefully prepare the food so there is seldom repeated hot dishes, and even offers vegetarian choice. #4. Staff: It is well known that One of the most beautiful things in Taiwan is PEOPLE. The front desk staffs are very efficient, professional, and approachable. The wat custodian cleans the room is remarkable. I was shocked when I learned that staying for 41 days is not a record. Maybe when the opportunity presents itself, I will try to set the record. Bottom line, this is a great hotel managing by a great team. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

To my pleasant surprise, upon check-in, I found a wonderfully comfortable pillow waiting for me in my room. It was a thoughtful gesture that made me feel appreciated as a guest!

Great hotel, excellent location just right next to Daan station. Room size is decent and smooth check in and check out service.

I got a positive impression when I check in, room is big because is a family room. Basic amenities Very bad wifi, thought out our 5 days we used our data instead. Please do something about the wifi. If you want to extend your check out time it will cost you SGD$80 pet hour. Overall, we do enjoy our stay in your hotel as is located at ximending very convenient on the location

The hot spring hotel is conveniently located, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The hot spring in the room is hot enough and very comfortable to soak in. The room is small, the bed is too soft, and there are no countertops or hooks to place items, which is very inconvenient. Breakfast food is simple but tastes good.

City Hotel is a basic hotel located in the Zhongshan area of the city. Situated 5 mins from Nanjing Fuxing MRT it’s a convenient place to stay and not too far from the central areas of the city. There is also a very good hotpot restaurant close to the hotel which is good to try.
