Buffet breakfast
Food was good especially the omelette.
Actually services were so good and very efficient to clean up the table even though we just stepped out to grab more food
A card that indicate the table is taken and return the card when complete of the meal may help.
The smart view TV is nice as we may project our cell phone to TV to enjoy. However, internet connection wasn’t that good.
View not good as block by the Sydney Tower. Location is excellent for shopping.

This is the first time we had stayed at this hotel and we were drawn in by the corner room. The view is quite amazing. However there is a construction site happening in front so we could see cranes only which did take away from the view. I can imagine that after the building has been built the view that the Sofitel house will be very poor as he will have an obstructed view to Darling Harbour. Otherwise the room service food was good. The breakfast food was good and this hotel definitely gave a business feel however it still felt quite luxurious and I have no complaints.

The first day was almost spoiled by a giant roach that decided our room belonged to him.
However the staff, particularly at the concierge/bellhop area were consistently great and they were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel's corridors were really showing their age with the peeling wallpaper, but the rooms themselves were fine.
Oh and the roach? We rang reception and they immediately changed our rooms!

Service was good and attentive. We arrived early in the morning and the reception offered to send me a whasapp once my room is ready and my bags were already in the room waiting. Location is close to circular Quey and a short walk to the opera house. Staff makes u feel very welcomed. I think they charged me AUD $20 for a bucket of ice which I asked for as their chiller in the minibar was not cold enough to chill my drinks, I only saw that on my credit card after I checked out, which was unexpected but well, I can’t be bothered to challenge as it was a nice stay anyways.

1. The hotel is in a very good location, convenient for taking the subway, shopping or eating.
2. The room is clean and comfortable, with a complete gym and swimming pool sauna.
3. The receptionist is very professional and friendly. I particularly like the Korean receptionist (Jooeun). She is cute! I wish I could be friends with her, and I regret not asking to take a photo with her.

There are a lot of things to like about The Porterhouse.
The hotel was newly renovated. It’s a modern property with good technology- eg there is one in room tablet that controls everything. TV. Aircon. Do not disturb etc etc.
In room housekeeping was done well- everyday we returned to a clean and tidied room. Bed well made and fresh towels. There was one day the cleaner forgot to empty one bin. But that was minor.
Inclusive a la carte bfast was also tasty. Service can be a bit slow, food can take a while to come out when the bfast room is full, but we expected that and no issue to us.
If there is one minor thing that can be improved upon- I’d suggest pls clean your open area carpets and corridors more frequently. Our floor’s corridor wasn’t cleaned for 4-5 days in a row (there was a cotton bud outside our room on the carpet for 5 days and it wasn’t picked up. Hence we knew no one was cleaning the carpet there). The 3rd floor corridor does start to smell stale/mouldy becos it wasn’t cleaned frequently.

Such a beautiful hotel. The only disappointment upon checking in was learning my room didn't have a bath. I called reception and they offered me an upgrade to a suite for $50, which I did. Would have been amazing if they'd bumped me up for free!! But overall it was a lovely stay.

GGuest UserHotel was good all-in-all but a bit of a disappointment. My original room smelled pretty strongly of mold. I was shown a few other rooms as options and most of them smelled like mold too. Fortunately the one I ended up in smelled mostly mold-free. It was next to the elevator though and a little bit noisy. There were issues with my key card that had to be fixed. The bed was pretty comfortable. Everything fairly basic, seemed a bit overpriced for what it is though I guess that's just downtown Sydney. Biggest drag was that there were two false-alarm fire alarms during my short (two night) stay. The first one was fairly drawn out (at least 10-15 minutes) and extremely loud - voice and alarm constantly blaring. The second one was shorter, but late at night and not good for sleep. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

GGuest UserThis was one of our best experiences ever. The view in the hotelroom was absolutely stunning, people absolutely nice and the service was outstanding. Very convenient, digitally enabled and very forward thinking oriented. The Blue Bar is also highly recommended. Unfortunately Shangri-La is only available in the eastern part of the world, we would surely use it more often.
JJokoLocation was perfect, room is very spacious with a proper work table. The only downside was the flight of stairs at the entrance which is not friendly for heavy luggage. While the staff will lend a hand, still good to have flat ground.

TTTWWSThis is our second time staying at this hotel however the hotel room that they gave us was not the same as the photo and honestly it was quite disappointing as it was very small and not what you expect from a five star hotel. Due to the public holiday the occupancy levels are also very high which meant that the line for the breakfast was insane and we had to wait a long time to get our eggs ordered and delivered. They do have a pool however it is sent me door on the roof of the Building and honestly it is just too cold to swim otherwise the day was otherwise okay. We came back because our stayed the first time was quite good however I probably will not be returning as it has a very suboptimal location.

GGuest UserThere are three bedrooms, the master bedroom has a bathroom. The other bathroom is in the public area. I've been staying at this hotel for a long time and I'm worried that the room facilities are old. But it's actually quite good. The room facilities are comfortable. The balcony is my favorite. Sitting on the balcony, you can see the Victoria Building and the town hall. It's OK to walk to attractions and shopping. The only drawback is that the hotel's wireless network speed is slow. The Android system will not automatically jump to the login page and cannot use the network

MmiSs JMWe stayed at Pullman Hyde Park in Sydney during Christmas holiday and while the location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city with easy access to attractions and dining, the hotel itself feels a bit outdated. The building could definitely use some updates to match the price point.
We had an issue with the toilet seat, which was oddly positioned and wasn’t able to pull it up and made it uncomfortable for my husband to use. Not a major deal-breaker, but definitely a bit inconvenient. Another downside was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. We could hear a lot of noise from the hallway and other rooms, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep.
The jacuzzi was quite small, much smaller than expected, but on a positive note, the rooftop pool was a highlight. The view of Hyde Park and the surrounding skyline was absolutely stunning—definitely the best part of the stay.
Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re looking for a central location, but for the price, I was hoping for a bit more in terms of room quality and amenities.

小小K宝宝The outdoor swimming pool is stunning. Breakfast buffet also offered a wide variety of selections.
However, the service of pool is a bit behind, like some employees skived by hiding behind the bar table or lying down.
AAnonymous UserThe room is very clean and very convenient to get in and out. It is the first choice for children and the elderly. There is a washing machine and dryer and a kitchen. If we come to Sydney again in the future, we will choose this hotel again.
UUfoshangdelishuBeautiful room, large in size, clean bathroom, bathtub, snacks provided, drinks in the minibar are free and refilled the next day. The lobby and the exterior of the hotel are very photogenic. The surrounding restaurants are pretty good. There is a bus to the QVB at the door. It is very convenient. It is very close to the Botanic Garden and the Art Museum. It can be reached by walking. Through the Botanical Garden is Circular Quay and the Opera House. , walking is not hard either.

JJD75Excellent place to stay in Sydney, a great alternative to a city hotel if you require multiple bedrooms or a kitchen. Clean serviced apartments with comfortable beds and full kitchen amenities. Our 2 bedroom had a balcony. The area “Green Square” is a tad uniform in design, prone to strong winds and a little dreary. That said, it’s very conveniently located above Green Square station which is one stop from Central and two stops from the airport so accessing all of Sydney’s major landmarks is no problems at all from this place. It has fairly decent cafes around it, lots of fast food outlets and a supermarket all within a stone’s throw.
Heated pool and gym both decent.
The only gripe and warning I have, especially for international tourists, is their $3 card surcharge. In this “cashless” hotel that is illegal behaviour and not permitted under Australian law. When challenged it was not applied to me as I stated I was more than happy to pay the security bond with cash. All businesses must afford you a way to pay that does not attract a fee in this country. If the owners want an extra $3 I suggest they apply it to the room rate to avoid these kinds of displeasures.
Fortunately the service at reception is fine, so I did not reduce my ratings based on this unnecessarily upsetting and stupid policy the hotel has. I do hope it is scrapped as it is tacky and unnecessary charges like these detract from the service standard achieved by the competent staff employed at the hotel.
