The room has good lighting, is spacious and clean.
The bedding smells very clean and comfortable.
The pillows are really very comfortable (I can't sleep well in hotels of the same price when I am old), so I think the price-performance ratio is quite high.
I looked around and there was not a single hair in the bathroom.
What I like most is the makeup mirror in the bathroom, which is so convenient for makeup!
The breakfast is very rich, especially the noodles, which are very fresh and must be tried!
The eggs fried by the master who cooks noodles are runny, which is really amazing. You must add an egg to the noodles.
I will choose this restaurant next time I come to Suzhou! !

The hotel is more of a motel and is located on the 11th floor of an apartment building. There is not much signage to show where it is when you arrive. The entrance lobby to the hotel is filthy and smells of incense and the carpet is stained and dirty with ash and seeds. The room itself was ok but on closer inspection we found that the room had not been properly cleaned! There were old chocolate packages in one of the bedside tables and a sealed condom in the other. The toilet had an old ash tray with burnt out incense and a bottle with an unknown substance. And everything had a layer of dust on it. When the AC was on we could smell food being cooked on other floors. The entire stay we did not feel comfortable with getting our room cleaned because the cleaning was obviously not very thorough. There was also a holes where the door lock had been installed which was patched up with tape and the peep hole one the door couldn’t close. Great location but really not worth the money☹️

Everything is great! The service is particularly good, the room is also equipped with laundry detergent, shoe towel ～ windowless room also has a view wwww facilities look quite new, the room is clean and tidy without smell! Many dining around! Very close to the subway station (⊙ω⊙) Special thanks to the next day of the stay, I found that I might have dropped something in the corridor in the morning. I called the front desk to explain with the idea of trying it out. As a result, I really found it at night! This is the happiest hotel I have stayed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai recently ～

Excellent value for the price. We had a suite which was big and clean. The staff was friendly and offered me an extra breakfast voucher for my son. Although we didn’t try them, there were a couple good looking Korean restaurants on the ground floor. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Times Square and a 7-minute walk from my favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

The hotel is more than one kilometer away from the Jinji Lake Expo Center. It is a bit far to walk in summer because it is too hot. It is also the same distance from the subway station.
The hotel room is spacious and relatively quiet at night. It is a bit noisy when people walk around during the day.

I enjoyed my time at the IU Hotel. It was in a nice area and there was plenty to do. I found that the staff were really easy to communicate with and they were always quick to help. The room itself was lovely and the cleaning staff did a great job every day. My only complaint was that I had no window - it was a window that was connected to a creepy little hallway in the middle of nowhere that was not accessible. Also, the walls are a bit thin, so one can hear almost everything happening in the other rooms. This would not be a problem usually for me, but some travelers had no sense of propriety. Children running down the corridors, adults shouting in their rooms or playing loud music, or children playing games on their phones well into the night. It was a little difficult to sleep. Other than that, I had a wonderful time indeed!

This is the second time I am staying in Mercure Jinji Lake, this time with my family visiting from overseas. Based on my previous good experience staying here, I didn't hesitate to book my stay again. The hotel didn't disappoint, with great location near to the pants and next to the garden. It is also very convenient to find food as family mart is just opposite the hotel and major shopping malls a stroll away. Also very easy to get didi ride and to take the subway. Overall, a really good experience.

The wooden furniture, ancient decorative paintings and traditional decorative style make people feel like they have traveled back to ancient times. It is so convenient to watch performances from Shanghai, especially when there are some popular performances that cannot be bought in Shanghai. RRuthWe were happy with our stay here. The room was nicer than it looked online, and the hotel was really clean. There are playrooms for young children that are free (3 rooms with some different toys in each room). The rooms are a bit old and tired, but my 2 year old enjoyed playing there and requested UK hi back lots of times. For parents it is just great to have somewhere for your kid to play and have fun, especially as the weather was very cold when we went! Outside there is a play area and sand digging pit. Location is walking distance from Tongli old town. Restaurant does evening buffet, and buffet breakfast. The food is fine, more Chinese than western, my husband really liked it and my favourite part was the Beijing roast duck at dinner. The pool is warm, with floats and rubber rings to borrow. There is a little land train, it takes a 10 minute trip around the hotel grounds and the cost is 20RMB for one adult and child. For me it was very boring but my son loved it 😂
The staff are very warm and friendly, everyone is very professional. Each guest is connected to a butler on wechat before they arrive so you can easily send a message and get some help. Our butler is Yu Ting and she helped us very professionally.
For me, the things the hotel can improve are (1) the animal petting zoo - by western standard the facilities for the animals are not very good, just concrete enclosure with hut. For foreigners, we do not really like this. (2) We had a problem with the other guests smoking in the hotel, eg in the coffee bar. When I complained to the staff they tried to stop the guests, but even though they repeatedly reminded them to stop, the other guests continued. In the end they arranged for me to move to a private room near the bar where I could avoid the smoking. I was very grateful that they found a solution for me and my baby, but I am speechless there are such guests who flagrantly break the rules and the hotel cannot stop them. We smelled smoke in some different public areas, so maybe this is a problem with several guests 🙁
Overall we are happy with our stay and it is a good place to spend a few days with kids.

GGuest UserThere were a few ants in the first room we booked, but after a few screams and a phonecall we were quickly moved to another ant-free room. The staff were so helpful, kind and willing to communicate in English to the best of their ability. They made plenty of gestures with bowls of fruit, fragrant sacks and even a personal delivery of the food menu when we couldn't find the English menu on the TV. Their frequent arrivals had us jumping in our robes to grab the door every so often, but each time we were grateful to receive such thoughtful snacks and smells. Lovely place. Would visit again.

GGuest UserGreat hotel staff, great lobby with free washing facilities. The staff at the reception were super nice, especially a young lady who spoke really nice english, tried to help me with my questions and was really careful to enjoy my staying.
The bathroom and main part of the room was suoer nice. Cant complain, however the cleaning could be more carefully because the curtain was dirty and under the table there were some nuts which was there probably since the previous guests.
Overall I would totally recommend because I am very picky but besides this smaller complain I am totally satisfied!

The hotel is right next to Tongli Ancient Town. You can ask the security guard to call a shuttle bus to the lobby when you walk to the hotel gate.
Service: When checking in, the tall staff in the lobby (sorry, I forgot his name) gave the baby balloons and fish food, and helped deliver the luggage to the room; heard that we were going to the ancient town, and sent a map of the ancient town; the staff of the club were also very good. Seeing that we took the baby to swim, they took the initiative to provide the baby with a swimming ring and helped us send a bath towel; because it rained, the outdoor children's playground was a little wet, and the staff took the initiative to wipe the wet slides and seesaws! The intact sand also took the initiative to provide paper towels and the like. After checking in, Xiao Han at the front desk also added WeChat, and answered all questions and responded in time. In short, the service is really good.
Environment: The hotel is simply a big park, with large lawns everywhere, many fish ponds, rockery, and fountains. There is also a light show in the evening, which ends at the end of October.
Facilities: The facilities inside the room are really average. After all, the hotel is quite old. There is a bit of odor when you enter the room; but everything outside the room is pretty good! There are both indoor and outdoor children's playgrounds (free disposable socks are also provided in the indoor children's playground); the swimming pool is also superb, and there is even a water slide in the doll pool! Babies of 22 months can also play; the adult pool is very large, but the water temperature feels low. The other one has a recreational pool with surfing and water spraying, and the water temperature is also good. There is also a huge rabbit activity area outside the western restaurant, and it is fun to feed the rabbits! !
Food: The buffet dinner is average, but it is better than expected and you can eat enough. After all, the price is there. The breakfast is okay, the noodles are really good, and the braised meat is so delicious.
Overall, it is okay, and the price is a bit high for the room facilities. The price is pulled up by the service and other facilities.

Qqueen_kooIf you’re looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.
1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite “scratchy” material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who aren’t afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they don’t have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesn’t go too loud , I guess it’s good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.
2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind!
3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , I’m quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to survive…I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isn’t exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed.
There’s a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and it’s obvious…I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause it’s not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!!
Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists.
I don’t usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them.
Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but it’s the people that pushed it up.
