Family-friendly Hotels in Surfers Paradise

Booked a one bedroom ocean spa apartment for 6 nights in Mid Oct 2024. Stayed on 38 floor. First impression when entering that apartment was ”great view”. Apartment is spacious and very clean, kitchen facility has stocked with many pot & pan and utensils, can make regular meals with no issue. Also has washer & dryer too. There is a jacuzzi bathtub in the bathroom that is a bonus! We brought food from Coles supermarket (walking distance from Q1) and made breakfast and dinner. To get to Q1 resort from Gold Coast airtport, We brought a public transport card ”GO” from shop in airport arrival hall, took the airport bus #777 from airport (30 minutes ride) to Broadbeach, transfer to the local tram, get off at Surfers Paradise stop. Q1 resort is right across the street. The whole ride is last than 45 minutes, cost only 50 cents AUD., great deal!! BTW, all bus & tram ride within Gold Coast area is 50 cents. So get a GO card. Just make sure you tap on and off with each ride.

We stayed at the JW Marriott in June 2022 for a family vacation. Cons: The first night I woke every hour from the bed as it was extremely uncomfortable and hurt my back. I could feel the springs and woke up in pain. The next day they put a mattress topper on it which made it bearable but still the worst bed i have slept in in a hotel. I stripped the bed one night as my son had an accident and was disgusted to find the mattress looked old, dirty and sunken in. It really let down the whole room (which was otherwise gorgeous). I had ordered loose balloons for my Mother in laws birthday for her room upon arrival. These were just dumped in the room in a bunch and not actually untied losing the effect and making it a waste of money. Pros: The pool area is amazing, the cocktails are great and the whirl pool is warm enough to swim in even in winter! The pool with the fish was slightly cooler but I am told still heated. There are waiters that will bring your drinks to you and take your order. The sandy area is great for toddlers. Food & Drink at Chapter & Verse is amazing and the service was great. Misono is well worth a visit and was our highlight! Buffett breakfast has everything you could want however I have stayed at another Marriott hotel that allowed you to order your eggs to order. This would be a welcome addition here. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Shout out to Robert, Georgia and Johnathan. We had connecting rooms which was awesome but the door does open outwards and take up a lot of room in the small hallway. If you are not a member of Bonvoy it is well worth joining up at the beginning of your trip. Overall it is a beautiful hotel and we would return, however the bedding situation really let it down and needs to be upgraded.

It's getting incredibly expensive to stay in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Budget options are severely limited, and inevitably you will have to make sacrifices. But if you're looking for decent accomodation that won't break the bank, this property has a lot going for it. It's definitely an older type building, and doesn't attempt to compete with the glittering modern skyscrapers constantly springing up along this coastal *****, but its location is unbeatable. Right across the road from the beach, and barely 5 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of Cavill Avenue, yet once you're inside the apar**ent, you never feel like you're in the thick if it, and there's virtually no noise disturbance, so the best of both worlds really. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff friendly, and parking is free - another bonus that is rapidly dying out! There is also a nice pool, sauna/steam facilities, games room and small gym. And so to those compromises - There's no in-room laundry facilities, no dishwasher, and I think this is the only hotel room I've ever seen anywhere in Australia without aircon. (ceiling fans only) More of an observation than a criticism, but we only stayed for one night so it didn't really affect us. It could have been potentially problematic for a longer stay, especially in hot weather, so worth thinking about. Overall, I found Chateau Beachside excellent value and a pleasant place to stay for a short-medium visit. If you are realistic about what you can expect at this price point, you will definitely not be disappointed.

The room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean. The hotel team has always been friendly, patient and helpful. That impressed me the most. We spent 5 nights here on holiday and I must say that everything was excellent. The location of the hotel is quite close to my destination as well as some other business centers in the city. As for the room, it’s very clean and super huge, it is excellent and surprisingly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others having a holiday. This hotel suit those a family trip.

The location is very good and parking is convenient. There is an access control system at the entrance of the lobby, and there is also an access control system when entering the guest room. I booked a river view room and the swimming pool is also good. Recommended.

A beautiful stay indeed, right down to the daily activities for the children. Always something to keep the children busy. We felt very at home. Everyday the kids were always making new friends. Special shout out to the activities Host Mya! Always happy to help, She really does the most. The days we stayed there Mya had really went above and beyond to keep the children & Adults entertained. Beautiful customer service. We look forward to booking with you guys again. Only downfall is the beds, maybe add a topper. You can really feel the age of the mattress. Most mornings I walk past the Langham Broadbeach gold coast, with my dogs and often comment, that I should stay there and see what it is like. So I bit the bullet and booked a room. And a reservation at Tang Court for lunch. From the moment we stepped out of the car, it was a superb atmosphere, and dripping with friendly service. Check-in was a breeze and we were given a full run down of the hotel. That was the only moment of regret, I didn't pack my swimsuit so couldn't get in the magnesium pool.....but I will go back for sure. Up to our to the room and it had the biggest bath, so bugger the magnesium pool. stopped by the lobby bar for a pre-lunch drink and service was quick and accurate. Then on to level 3, where we are greeted as though we are long lost friends and taken to our table. The food at Tang Court was next level and I even got a doggy bag.......so much food. Not cheap, but worth every cent and the experience. After our very long lunch it was back to the room to drop off the doggy bag and to explore the rest of the hotel. I took my glass of bubbles with me quite expecting to be told to leave it behind, but no, everyone just smiled warmly and I am sure had there been an open bottle somewhere they would have topped me up. As we are locals, I invited family down to check out the lodgings and was met with the appropriate ”ooo and aahhh!!!”. Back to the lobby bar and timed it perfectly to view the fireworks on the beach at Surfers. The bed was super comfy, great pillows and the curtains closed, made a princess sleeping paradise. Next morning it was a toss up to go to the café or the buffet breakfast. Glad we chose the buffet, $59 each and all you can eat. I definitely ate my $$$ worth. Checkout came too soon at 11am, but it was nice to have the extra hour and not the traditional 10am check-out. On checkout we of course were asked, did we have far to go home? not far I said.......about 900 metres. very pleased with our STAYCATION...........thankyou Langham,ill blow you a warm kiss as I walk past this week.

I stayed a week in apartment 32 on level 10, overlooking the beach with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. To say the outlook is spectacular seems like an understatement, and if you like the sound of the surf this is defiantly the place for you. The location is excellent. A short, flat walk to shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. Less than a 10 min walk to supermarkets, shopping precincts and night clubs. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Surfers Paradise night markets held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and polite. I had a small issue with the receipt and found the front desk staff approachable, the issue was resolved on the spot. The list below is lengthy, and it may seem that I’m running the place down, but I’m a details person. I would happily stay again, details provided may help you prepare for your stay. The bed was comfortable though a little on the firm side for my liking. Overall, I found the room was very clean, but was disappointed to find the previous guest had left an obviously unwashed bowl in the cupboard. The kitchen is very small and lacks counterspace, I used the dining table for meal prep. No dishwasher but washing up liquid and a tea towel is provided. Supplied amenities were minimal, while there were a few satchels of tea and coffee no milk was provided. The soap and shampoo supplied were single use. The lounge and dining room are serviced by a split system air conditioner that is very quiet and cools efficiently. There is no air conditioner in the bedroom. Water pressure isn’t great but sufficient. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full range of Foxtel channels not just a few select sports and news as so often the case. The Apartments are overdue for renovations and there are a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. In my room there were some broken tiles, the sliding door for the laundry would only close halfway and one of the towels provided was so threadbare it had a hole in it. A fresh coat of paint here and there would certainly brighten the place up. Although I understand the need to book the BBQ’s and Tennis court, I thought that a $50 deposit to ensure it was left clean was a tad excessive. I can only assume that they have had issues in the past. Car parking needs to be booked and confirmed ahead of time. I have a mid-sized sedan and found the spaces a bit tight, guests with large 4 x 4s might find it a bit of a challenge. Previous reviewers have mentioned the street noise. Given that the building is right on the Esplanade some occasional noise should be expected. I stayed from a Monday to Monday, I only noticed an increase in road noise on the weekend evenings which is understandable. If you can overlook the small things, The Olympus Apartments are great value for money and defiantly deserves to be on your short list.
