Ok hotel. Spacious rooms. We had a great sea view - other rooms near 1st floor had terrible views. The pool was small and not suited for kids. Impossibe to get sunbeds. The food in the restaurant was REALLY bad. Luckily we only had breakfast there. The eggs were partly uncooked, the bread dry, the pastry was stale. The staff in the lobby was not very helpful.

Good points - the location is amazing, right at the beach, short walk to Flower Street etc. plenty of shops and food stands outside the hotel. Food - the food was much better than I expected given the previous negative reviews. There’s always a good range of salad and two meat dish’s. I’d imagine even a very picky eater would find something suitable each meal. Room - we stayed in a family room (42b). It was absolutely huge, it was cleaned daily with fresh towels. I really can’t fault the room. AL drinks were what you’d expect in most AL, local sprits etc. they give their beer in a lager glass which is helpful. Pool - the pool is brilliant, cleaned daily. Bad points The AL bar is in the restaurant, you can’t sit in the softer seats outside u til you buy the drink. Rude cooking staff - the staff who serve the meals are very rude. Sun beds, there aren’t enough. As previously stated, people will leave towels out early. We didn’t really have much issue getting beds, if we saw a towel down and no one was there we’d move it. The lifeguard also done this for us. Overall, we found this to be much better than expected and plan to return to the hotel in the future.

DO NOT GO ALL INCLUSIVE TO THIS HOTEL !!! FOOD- selection not good at all, availability awful, trays are usually empty & food is cold when you do get it, Food serving area really small so queues go out the doors .Only allowed to drink all inclusive drinks in certain areas so not to interfere with the paying bar Maids- can not make a bed !! didnt sweep sand from balcony for about 3 days :( ROOMs- ok , nice size, bathroom really small but functional, shower powerful & always had hot water. POOL- Dont even try to get a sunbed unless you go out about 6.00am , towels already down but no one sits on them until about 10.00am - nothing is done STAFF- reception staff lovely & helpful, dining staff as miserable as sin UPSIDE- beach was wonderful but sunbeds are chargeable, weather was glorious.

First time visiting Sunny Beach - Bulgaria Fenix Hotel, would not stay at this hotel again, or recommend anyone else to. The bathroom not cleaned everyday, during 7 day stay beds only changed once. Some staff very rude. Food was absolutely disgusting - not enough plates or cutlery available for the number of people in the dining room and when replenished some were still wet and not properly washed. Pool closed at 6 p.m. every night, not enough sunbeds and parasols for everyone. If 'all inclusive' only allowed to sit in the 'AL' section, not in the other seats on the patio unless you bought a drink from the franchised lobby bar. I could go on and on, but will stop there - basically don't use this hotel on a 'AL' basis, bed and breakfast only.

If I could award this hotel a minus I would. *Hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. *Food awful, undercooked (raw chicken), a lot of food inedible. *Food not replenished, to be told it's finished even with over an hour left on all- inclusive. *Drinks ok but also told certain drinks had finished as they ran out with over an hour and a half left. *Told we can't sit in certain areas because we were all inclusive and told we hadn't paid for drinks later finding out these areas were for the bar which was payable( we weren't aware of this). *Witnessing people having to eat their evening meal around the pool on Sun loungers. *Witnessing The "Lifeguard" throwing people's towels onto the grass area and moving their sun loungers to give to other people. When asked he said "don't speak English". When he wasn't doing that he was lying on his sun lounger. Our group never witnessed it but were told from a number of other guests that some of the restaurant staff were in the swimming pool around 3 o'clock in the morning although it was closed until 9am. * I could go on but I hope you get the picture. *** AVOID HOTEL FENIX, BULGARIA***

Don’t book this hotel as the service, food and drinks are diabolical. The staff are rude and unhelpful. The fully inclusive option is awful and only available in a small area. They ran out of food an hour before the restaurant was due to close. We would advise anyone not to stay in this hotel.

They claim to be a 4-star hotel, but it seems more like a 1-star. First of all the employees (even the ones in the reception) couldnt understand english. The ladies who cleaned the room forgot to give os towels 2 days, but still took the ones we had, and when we asked the reciption for towels (to take a shower) they didnt wanna give us any, even tho it was the cleaning ladies fault, because they forgot to give us some new ones. Other than that, the food in the hotel was bad. The only acceptional thing was their fruits. Besides that, the staff that worked at the pool didnt care about people breaking the pool-rules, which ruined the experience for so many. Other than that, people would get up a 7 or 8 in the morning to put their towels on the sunbeds, and then leave the hotel, so when they come back they had a sunbed. The hotel staff would see this and do nothing about it. And when we talked to them about it, they just said they couldnt do anything, instead of keeping an eye on people? In one of our rooms, the electricity and water was not working, and it took the staff TWO DAYS, to get it fixed, and when we asked for a new room the first day because of the problem, they didnt wanna give us a new one. To for two days, our mom and aunt was without water and electricity in the room, and they were so slow to do anything about it. Another room we had had a very bad smell because of the sewer-system.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Fully inclusive guests are made to feel like second class citizens as they are only allowed to sit in the restaurant and just outside the restaurant. They can’t sit in the lobby bar or the poolside bar as this is for paying guests. There is not enough tables in the restaurant, guest were having to sit on sun lounges to eat their evening meal. The food ran out at 7.45pm and not replenished even though the fully inclusive food was to be served from 6.30pm - 9pm. The one night we did get some food the chicken was not cooked. On a breakfast they constantly ran out of tea bags and one morning they wouldn’t put any cups out for hot drinks. Only after my 70 year old dad complained to the manager did cups get put out.

First time to Bulgaria. Hotel was clean and nice. We were given a room at the back of the hotel with no balcony.........when I asked to change rooms, I was told I would have to pay another £65! Yet other guests said they complained and were moved Foc. All inclusive... well I thought the food was OK....enough choice. Certainly didn't go hungry. Not fine dining but got what you paid for. Alcoholic drinks were not good. Not once did we feel like we had had a good drink! Only available from 11.00am till 10.00pm. Then you had to buy them (not cheap). All inclusive guests not allowed to sit in the bar area unless you have bought your drinks! Hotel is in an excellent location. All Inc seems to be frowned upon. Pool good. Same situation with sunbeds unfortunately.....
