I have mixed feeling about this resort. The expectation was high before my trip as it is one of the best resort under Hilton operations that is located next to a major ski resort. I am going to give my review based on the following aspects. Friendly staff: We were welcome by Caroline who was very sweet and friendly. We arrived early and she was able to check us in early. The gentleman who handled our luggage was also very helpful and made us feel welcomed. I think friendly staff is the core value of any good hotel. I give a 5 star to its staff. Small room and outdated furnishing: I stayed in a junior suite and the room is very compact. To be honest, a lot of airport hiltons has larger room than here. The closet has some marks on it and paint also fainted around the handles. The bathroom looks very dark and gives me no desire to take a bath there. Maybe I am just spoiled by other nice beach resorts that has amazing bath tubs. I feel a nice bath tub is must have for a ”resort” room. Facilities: The resort is smaller than I expected. The facilities is limited. They have an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. A few outdoor seatings with fire pit. This would be enough for a Hilton or doubletree resort but for a Waldorf ?! Elite member treatment: Both my husband and I are Hilton Diamond members. We booked a basic room and was upgraded to a junior suite which is a one level upgrade. I appreciate the upgrade but was disappointed as many other elite members talked about being upgraded to a one bedroom suite. Since we are keen to get a full kitchen for our stay, I chatted with a sales and expressed our interest to get a paid upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The lady told me that I could be upgraded to a one bedroom suite by topping up 300 dollars per night. Wait a minute. I just checked the website and the price difference between the junior suite and one bed suite is a little over 200 dollars. Suddenly I felt bad. I thought about paying for the difference of of the room category but never thought about being asked to pay more than that. I thanked her for her offer and said no. She later came back to me with a 250 dollar offer because I am an elite member. Well, I had the feeling that she must have thought I am either rich or dumb to overpay for the difference of the room category. I am neither so I stopped talking to her. The upgrade experience is not very good for me. In contrast, I stayed in St regis in deer valley before my trip to park city. As a Marriott titanium member I was upgraded to their one bedroom suite. The room was spacious, the resort is larger and the room is cheaper. Now I tried both places. I will go with St Regis for my future stays.

We would return! The room was efficiently laid out to handle a family of 4 staying for 3 nights with ski gear. I loved the oversized luggage rack and having a sink outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was a good selection, well stocked and rotated options. There were a lot of great restaurants within walking distance too. The Kimball Junction transportation center was 3 min away which proved very helpful to take the 10 Express bus to Park City when 2’ of snow was in the forecast during our stay. Pool and spa were enjoyed by the kids too. The only critiques I’d give is that the bathrooms were a bit ‘motel’ looking and they didn’t leave milk/cream at the lobby coffee station past breakfast.

This is the cheapest room in the trip, the environment is quite good, basically foreigners, next to the Outlets, most people come here to ski! The room is also very clean! There are warm pools and many children are playing inside.

We had an exceptional experience, from our late night check in to our iffy departure during a snowstorm the staff were helpful and accommodating. Our 2-bedroom suite with full kitchen, dining and living space was perfect for our blended family and the valley view was spectacular. The location was perfect for families and the hotel shuttle for local attractions was an unexpected bonus. Our only complaint would be the food which was not great and pretty expensive for what it was, but we were able to prepare and eat a lot of our meals in our room. Overall, the experience was just what we had hoped for. Would highly recommend for families looking for a traditional ski vacation.
