Premier Inn Stratford-Upon-Avon Waterways

We stayed at PI Waterways, Wife, Self and 10yo daughter fur a post New Year Mini Break in Stratford-Upon-Avon fur 2 nights. Very friendly staff. Easy check-in process, and as we came by train it was only 10 minutes' walk from the train station, but the car parking looked decent even if we had brought the car. We had a 1st Floor Family Room. Well equipped, just big enough, with all we needed. Room Clean, comfortable, decent bathroom, nice telly, plenty of space for clothes and hangers, hair dryer etc, good wi-fi, bedside reading lights and charge points, tea and coffee provided, desk, chairs and kettle, and useful small coffee table. Nice view over the canal. Very comfortable beds, and what struck us was the peace and quiet of the location, just slightly away from the bustle of the town centre, which aided us for a good night's sleep. The location is also a 10 minute straightforward walk into the town centre, which is handy, and 5 minutes in the other direction are 2 retail parks with several big supermarkets and shops that stay open late, which was also very useful. A large McDonalds is next door to the hotel, which proved its worth for our daughter, as she did not like PI Menu and it meant we could grab a quick and easy dinner one night without venturing into town. The breakfast at PI is OK, and staff do their best to keep things topped up, however we found it a very busy restaurant, and they ran out of several items, and didn't replace them, and as my wife is Vegetarian, Vegan Sausages were not available on both mornings, but she subbed it with other items like toast and croissants. The staff did seem stressed out though, to be fair, and they are obviously not responsible if people seem happy that their kids repeatedly load their plates to the hilt with 3 or 4 croissants, overloaded cereal bowls, and several pieces of toast at a time. We don't allow our daughter to do it that way, and she knows it would be unfair on others anyway! It didn't stop us enjoying ourselves though, and we had a lovely couple of hours at the Indoor Butterfly Farm just over the river in town and winter walk by the river, as well as the delightful shops in town centre. Overall, this Waterways hotel met all our needs, and more, and helped us to have a perfect mini-break before the pressure of school and work routine starts. Thanks for a perfect stay!
Greenhill Farm Barn B&B

Great welcome from Steve host who was so kind with all my faffing around and rebooking needs, Really comfortable rooms, great en-suite shower in the twin, lovely private bathroom for sole use of the King room (please do not be put off by this as the room is quite separate to others on the floor (as in turn right or left at the top of the stairs and very tastefully curtained off for privacy.)). The property has beautiful- views, lovely. 20 mins pleasant walk to the Cotswold Distillery- great afternoon out - tasting. (Apparently look on Groupon for offers) Dinner at Feldon Valley Golf Club “The Kitchen” next door to B&B delicious. Lizzy gave us a lift (AND offered to pick us up - how generous?) but we walked back (8 mins) with a decent torch (do not forget this townies if you are out at night) Wildlife around there lovely, villages beautiful . The breakfast provided by Steve and the talented Lizzy was hands down the best ever. Choice, quality, home made in the extreme, And the four of us have stayed in quite a few places right around the globe. If you need a place to stay in this area, I would say , stop looking and book here. Excellent.
The Blue Boar

Visited The Blue Boar Inn while my partners family were staying there for the weekend. The restaurant is very busy so I would definitely recommend prebooking over weekends. All I can say is the staff, service and food were amazing. We all chose to have food from the Indian menu and it didn't disappoint! The only very small criticism would be the food came out very quickly so you didn't have much time in between courses. I'll happily drive the 45 minutes from where I live to eat here again!
The Norman Knight Whichford

Very characteristic log cabin, the room is not big, but the layout is compact, and there is a kitchenette with a stove. The sanitation inside the house is good, but it is best to clean the wooden seats outside. The mattress is too soft, and the sofa for the baby to sleep on is also very small. The curtains are thin and easy to wake up early in the morning. The surrounding scenery is good, you can stroll around at will. Catering should be featured, but we didn't have the chance to taste it. The child said he liked it very much.

Green Haven Guest House

Amazing guest house. Exceptionally clean. The room had everything we needed. The hosts were so lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh to order. Available items were fresh fruit, fruits juices, cereals, yogurts, toast with butter/preserves, cooked breakfast, scrambles egg on toast, tea, coffee.... and more. It is about a 10 minute walk into town. There is a garage next door and a Spar shop a minute away. Highly recommend a visit to Veeno in the town. We booked the wine pairing experience and it was amazing. We will be returning as the guest house was fabulous and there is plenty to do in Stratford.
