I was invited to a chess competition there and due to circumstances I had an accident I wrote to them in order to cancel the reservation but they wanted a medical report from me and I lost the reservation money which I unfortunately did not use!!!

Very bad, it’s not hotel, only a little inn, the environment and sanitation is very poor!

If it was possible with 0 stars I would have pressed that. I entered my "private" room to find filled with someone else's trash, smelling like death and no air circulation, thin thin walls, no windows, and under terrible disrepair. I should have read the signs by the "lobby", which looks like a WC at bus station. As a woman traveling alone I felt unsafe around the other "guests" at this establishment (it seems like they live there???). I have never seen anything close to this after 10 years of traveling in Sweden. Long story short, I I left and slept somewhere else.

During a long bicycle trip I intended to stay in a budget place. I knew I could not expect comfort. But a minimum of cleanliness must ensure even a budget hostel! Bedbugs are a no go! I was tormented by bugs all night! The shower was disgustingly dirty and the staff at the reception very unfriendly. The bug bites became infected the next day and I had a very swollen face. After seeing a doctor, I returned to City Lodge to address the problem. The front desk staff didn't care and shrugged their shoulders. There are many similarly shocking reviews on ***********, which unfortunately I had not seen before I booked. I strongly advise against staying at Stockholm City lodge. Especially women should refrain, very strange people frequent this hostel!
