The location is perfect for looking at the lake, and it's not far from Fort William! When I arrived, I found that the room I booked had a garden view, so I wanted to change the room. Thanks to Ctrip for helping me communicate, I was able to upgrade to a lake view room at the same price. You must book a lake view room! !

We booked into The Whispering Pine Lodge for a 3 night stay while we were up in the Highlands. First impressions were really good when we entered the hotel. Staff were efficient checking us in and before heading to our room, we sat on the outside terrace having tea and cake which they serve everyday from 3-5pm. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the Loch. Dark wooden furniture and floor with tartan accents were very fitting. It was then we noticed how thin the walls and floor were! Every movement from the room upstairs, felt like a herd of elephants. Unfortunately, we discovered a family of 4 with 2 small children were above us. I know it’s not easy to stop children running up and down the room but this was relentless until it stopped at around 11pm only to start again at 6.30am. Spoke to reception who kindly moved us next door, saying that there was a couple above us so it should be better..it was much better although we felt sorry for the new guests arriving and having our old room instead of the one we were now it. We’d been out most the day and during the early evening of the final night I started to notice just how filthy the room actually was. The furniture, dado rail, shelf above bed, pictures and floor edges were covered in thick dust. The shower cubicle was filthy as was the basin pedestal. I took photos to show reception staff who looked horrified and wanted to send someone in to clean it. As we’d been out for the day and felt shattered, the last thing we needed was to decamp while they did what should have been done in the first place. In compensation, we were offered a bottle of prosecco instead! This is meant to be a 4* hotel and the price they charge reflects this but unfortunately the cleanliness most certainly doesn’t! I have never stayed anywhere like it and nor would I want to.

We booked for lunch the day after climbing Ben Nevis and on looking up the menu saw there was a small spa with treatment rooms, an outdoor sauna and hot tub. Just what our tired legs needed! We rang ahead and asked to book the facilities for one hour and push the lunch back. It was a very good call! What an exquisite place, with superb service, food and views. The sauna and hot tub were high end, super clean and the staff just lovely. I wish we had time for a treatment! We had a bottle of fizz as we were celebrating a birthday and being able to relax in nature overlooking the loch was heavenly. Lunch was excellent. We decided to have coffee on the deck and stayed for three hours. Napping, reading, chatting and then a red arrows fly past suddenly arrived. A perfect day. Every single member of staff we encountered was smiley and friendly. The location is stunning. Highly recommend on all fronts. I look forward to returning one day and staying in this beautiful part of the world again x

An immaculate hotel in an enviable location with fabulous views. The staff are exceptional and the breakfasts the best I've had in a hotel with a huge choice. Evening meals also nice in a lovely restaurant with breathtaking views. The spa treatments were very reasonably priced. A nice touch to offer complimentary teas, coffees and cakes between 3pm and 5pm each day. There are coffee and tea making facilities in the bedrooms with bottled water replaced every day and a turn down service with a nice touch of leaving a teacake on each pillow. Cannot recommend enough.

Went here as recommended for the views over the loch. The views are beautiful however the food and the service is nowhere near a match. The food is quite overpriced when compared to other restaurants and pubs in the local area. Priced more at ‘fine dining’ but doesn’t deliver this. Little things make a big difference: -Plastic tea lights instead of candles -Plastic bottles of fizzy water instead of a decanter of water -no haddock or potatoes in the Cullen Skink, just a fish bone -no fish really in the curry. In and out for a couple within 45 minutes. Most disappointing, would not at all recommend.

This is a little gem. Staff members were efficient, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious (including amazing Indian cuisine) with option to dine outside overlooking a beautiful loch. Lovely tartan decor was a nice touch. Pretty plaid-covered stairs led to our room. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom in our particular room had to be accessed by stepping up two steps - we felt it necessary to leave the light on in the bathroom so we didn't fall in the middle of the night. Bathroom fixtures could use an upgrade/fixing and there was some evidence of mold in the corner of the shower. We mentioned this to management upon check-out and they assured us they were going to take care of it promptly. We would definitely return to this oasis. It is clear that the owners take pride in their property.
