I was hoping I’d be getting a nice holiday without breaking the bank, however would it be at the expense of good amenities, service and holiday experience? I’d describe this establishment as a family run, medium sized hotel offering value for money accommodation. Trip Advisor tells me there have been 1,000 reviews and the score given is 3.5 out of 5 - “very good”. The Royal Jinene hotel is classed as 4 star. I’ve put my review into logical sections. But was it any good? Read on please … Welcome, check-in procedure and Reception: I booked to stay as a male solo guest at the Hotel Jinene for the week at the end of April 2024, on an All Inclusive basis all food, soft & alcoholic drinks provided for. However unfortunately when I arrived that hotel was closed because as I later discovered it was being refurbished. It’s sister hotel the Royal Jinene which shares the same external facilities next door was now the place for me. Upon arrival I got a warm smiling welcome. Initially my booking could not be found so I forwarded the reservation email to their email address. The receptionist took my passport and offered to complete the paperwork for me. I was given a yellow hotel Wristband and ushered into the restaurant for some lunch. Restaurant set up: The restaurant I would describe as old fashioned traditional but perfectly serviceable. I got a lemonade from a young man serving drinks and chose a light salad for lunch. For the duration of your stay you are allocated a particular table number and your blue dining card has your parties name on it which stays on your table. So for breakfast, lunch and dinner you get the same specific numbered table to sit at. Bedroom: After lunch - back to Reception and he whispered to me he upgraded me to a nice room with sea view and pool view. Room 204. Into the very slow lift I went with other guests. Finding the display panel on the lift was not working but the lift was. The room was easy to find just a few steps away from the lift. Though I’m pleased to report no lift noise can be heard from the guest bedrooms. My first impressions of the room were positive, spacious, well laid out and spotlessly clean. Bathroom and toilet all good including bath and shower. Beds seemed adequate. Balcony view was just as receptionist said quite a large balcony with two seats and a table. So all going well so far. One personal issue I had was that the TV was old fashioned and didn’t have an HDMI port for me to connect my fire stick. That made me a little sad. But I was expecting that from the info from previous reviewers. I understand from management that new TVs are planned for all rooms in the future. Outdoor hotel facilities: I decided to check out the outdoor spaces, and was I in for a pleasant surprise. The lifeguard welcomed me as I approached the large outdoor pool, it looked good enough to jump in but I wasn’t appropriately dressed. Walking around the pool I could see that just over half the sun
