The service was very good. Four staff members greeted us when we got off the car. We were served local margarita cocktails and wet wipes. We checked in directly in the room. It was very smooth. The hotel area is very large, and some areas require golf carts for transportation. The room is right next to the Marouma Beach, the white sand beach of the Caribbean Sea and the green-blue ocean. The hotel is very primitive. In the deep jungle, we saw reddish-brown South American raccoons

What an amazing property! It was a beautiful property but now is even more beautiful due to the well-done renovations. Incredible rooms setup, views, Restaurants & food and the most well-appointed Spa. The entire staff is super friendly and professional. We were blessed with the weather and full moon nights as well. It was the second visit, but it won't be the last one for sure. Special thanks to Lilian, Sabrina, Pool & Beach, Sergio, Alfonso and Onesimo. The Team at Casa Mayor who we really like them during the breakfast like Karla, Valdivia, Obdulio, Jose Luis. I can really remember all the names, but they all deserve a great recognition because what they do in regard to the special attentions to the details. Also, the team at Wooden provided a terrific service

My wife and I had a fantastic stay just after New Year, and one of the standout moments (which, honestly, I think the hotel doesn’t promote enough) was a Temazcal shaman ritual we did on the beach at sunset one evening. You crawl into what looks like a pizza oven (which, we’re told, represents your mother’s womb). It’s basically being locked in a pitch-black sauna/steam room for 60 minutes, with nothing but the shaman’s drum beat, chanting and your deepest thoughts to keep you company. At some point, you’ll question some life choices —like, “Did I really need that third taco and second bottle of wine at lunch?” The shaman was genuinely impressed that my wife and I made it through the whole session and “took all the hot stones.” I explained that surviving a New York City summer builds tolerance. By the end, you emerge feeling reborn, energized, and completely soaked in sweat, and realize you’ve never been so grateful for a cool sea breeze in your life. It’s was the perfect detox to sweat off 2024 and gear up for 2025! A huge thank you to Jorge and Giacomo for an unforgettable experience, and to the whole team at Belmond Maroma for giving us an incredible start to the year.

We come to Mexico at least four times every year. We use to go to Tulum and would stay at Be Tulum and Nomade . When looking for a new resort there I stumbled on Maroma. We had staying in FIVE different Belmond resorts while in Peru. Happy to say we are 100% happy we found it. This resort has the absolutely best consumer service and attention to details. I think the rooms are better than any four season room I’ve stayed at. I would say the rooms are very similar to Little Palm island. The staff is very knowledgeable and truly there for your every need. The spa was one of the best 10 I’ve been to in the world. The food was prepared with the best ingredients. We were very impressed with this resort. Honestly the seaweed and tourism has spoiled Tulum . This was very easy to get to (we flew into the private airport but it’s right by the Cancun airport). This resort offers you secluded beach walks . A rare find on these busy beaches. It’s truly a little gem outside of the busy streets of playa and Tulum. Oh and the gift shops has some of my favorite Mexican designers with the top handmade one of a kind pieces. Will return! Thank you to the staff of this rare gem. You are what makes this place so special.

Had the opportunity to spend the day at the Belmond Riviera Maya, and had an incredible Time. What peace, what natural essence, what beauty! All details cared for, each room and space so harmoniously executed (Tara Bernerd), to top it all, this wonderful experience would not have been possible without our hosts Alfredo Ruiz and Belarmino Gonzalez and all the restaurant staff. The Maroma is a beautiful, tranquil property. From our initial warm and cultural greeting, to the very end, I do not believe I have experienced service like this before. The staff is very friendly and genuine. If they make a cocktail for you, they explain the ingredients and the history behind it. We never felt that it was crowded in any space on the property. There was no need to "save" umbrellas or chairs at any point. The property feels very private and serene, not like a chain hotel. We would love to visit again.
