Time to invest some money in updating this tired hotel. This is the third time we have stayed here but will be the last. Rooms are very dated and would be benefit from a refit and freshening up. Walls between rooms are paper thin so you can hear every noise from your adjoining neighbours and even from rooms across the corridor. Beds were awful poor quality metal framed and made so much noise when getting in and out of bed or moving around whilst sleeping. This got so bad after a sleepless night that I resorted to usi by ear plugs to get to sleep. Hotel did nothing to rectify the situation despite reporting the issue to reception and our tour rep. Bar prices are much higher that other hotels and the bar service was so painfully slow and we ended up clearing the tables of the accumulation of empty glasses left by other guests. By comparison a beer and a Prosecco was €15 compared with €9.50 at the higher quality Piolet down the road.

We stayed with Crystal Ski and had a Mountain View room (1630). The view was perfect as we were able to see the four runs that come back to the village. The room itself was a bit dated think 1995 rather than 2025 but a good size. You have breakfast in the sport hotel and diner in the sport village hotel just across the road (or preference go down to the spa and you can get to diner without going outside. The food at breakfast and diner is like being on a cruise - plenty of choice - breakfast everything you could ever want and diner a signature dish every night and a great selection of salad, soup and desserts. It is a buffet though so food is on the warm/cold side and be prepared to get pork ribs one day, port loin another day, pork knuckle a other day and chopped up suckling pig another (yes heavy on the pork) but there are other choices. The ski lockers are just over the road and there is a warning sign that you may need to share lockers with other rooms when busy but we didn’t have that problem .. it’s a 2 min walk from the locker to the gondola and you are up in the mountains in no time. The down side is drinks are very expensive compared to anywhere else .. and you do have to pay to use the Spa… but other than that it’s a great hotel and a great ski area with mid party apres ski in the resort.

The 4* status of this hotel seems overblown for what you get. Although the public areas are spacious and comfortable, the rooms are very basic - small, not enough drawer / wardrobe space, no tea/coffee facilities and most of them look out over a building site / concrete retaining wall - our room had frosted windows I guess to shield us from the awfulness of the view! On the plus side: excellent breakfast and amazing dinner buffet. Friendly staff and easy access to the slopes. Negatives in addition to those mentioned above: €40-50 to visit the spa, unbelievably slow bar service (we were a large group and were “not allowed” to order at the bar but were told we had to get table service and sometimes waited up to 30 minutes to actually get a drink after sitting down). The drinks in the bar are also shockingly expensive. Finally, a lovely pool table - but no balls!!!!

Positives: Magical architecture, ski lodge at Christmas atmosphere, lovely and friendly staff, delicious food, amazing coffee at breakfast, first class location, provision of ski equipment lockers that are between the hotel and main gondola, dinner was epic, 2 free glasses of wine pp for TUI customers at dinner. Negatives: our room had the most squeaky bed I have ever come across - it woke us up every time we turned in our sleep. I spoke to reception about this on two separate occasions and although they were happy to help and claimed that the beds had been changed, we always returned to a screeching bed. Rooms also did not have tea/coffee making facilities which seems like such a basic nowadays. Reception were very kind to give me a kettle when I requested but this seemed to be more of an exception than anything else. On the whole, we had a fantastic stay but it could have been 10 times better if we could have slept!

Enjoyed a weeks skiing with my son. Rooms big enough, very warm, shower hot and cold. Breakfast fine but hot food was lukewarm as always. Dinner was in opposite hotel. Lukewarm food and not always hot plates, good choice but we didn't always eat there. Tui customers get wine with dinner but it's hit and miss if you get your quota. Drinks in hotel were so expensive 71 Euros for four drinks, only drank there once. Locker room very near gondola.

We (a group of 13) stayed here with Crystal early Feb 2024. As others have said, the hotel is a bit of style over substance. The public areas are extremely stylish, albeit underused. Meanwhile, the rooms are rather dated. Many of them look out onto a large concrete wall at the back of the hotel. The rooms are nowhere near as big as they look in the photos. On the plus side, the rooms are warm - too warm really - with a large bathroom and plenty of hot water. There is limited wardrobe space, particularly drawers, although there are coat hooks, essential for skiers. Breakfast is very good. Huge portions of fresh fruit, all the usual cooked meats and cheese, hot food and a variety of breads and rolls. Evening meals are taken across the road, in the Sports Village hotel. Their dining room is huge, seating around 300. Its atmosphere is a bit 'staff canteen'. Food is buffet style - plenty of starters and soup. Mains are a mixture of ready cooked dishes - mainly meat stews of various types and roasts ( we had chickens, suckling pig, beef shins and pulled pork) - together with freshly cooked meat or fish on a griddle. Desserts were mainly small pastries and mousses, together with several ice creams. The main problem was that most of the food was lukewarm, not helped by cold plates and having to queue for fresh cooked food. It was also disappointing that, despite comments from 2022 about this, the situation with wine hasn't been resolved. Crystal guests have half a litre per couple included. Sometimes this was served by the glass, sometimes bottles were put on the table and sometimes you were charged. I had a bill for 33 euros for 3 glasses to sort out before we left. We did get the Crystal rep to sort things out and, on the last night, signs appeared saying it was 2 glasses each ( although there didn't seem any allowance for non drinkers). The other issue was the cost of things in the hotel. The first evening we had a coffee and 2 spirits after dinner. Coffee was 4.5 euros and the two drinks - whisky and brandy - were 47 euros!!! There was a Spa across the road but it was 65 euros per person for 3 hours, treatments extra. All in all, the hotel is good but certainly not 4* away from public areas.

Hotel stunning and perfect location for gondola. Food Amazing. Staff very friendly. Rooms very dated and in need of a refurb...definitely not 4* - take a kettle and cups if you want hot drinks in your room. 2 small supermarkets down the road for supplies.

Amazing week at the Sport yet again. Have stayed here on 3 occasions and the hotel always excels. My step son traveled with us this year and was amazed so much so that he said it was the best food in a hotel that he has ever had! Arrived on New Years Eve and attended the gala dinner which was superb and set the standard for the week. The evening food was incredible every night with a great choice of salads, meats, cheese, soups, main meals and of course desserts. Our room was lovely and clean if not a little warm and the hotel is so well situated just across the road from the boot room and gondola so not lugging your kit half way through Soldeu! We used the spa and although expensive was worth every €. The staff at the hotel are fantastic and cannot do enough for you. Can’t wait to return next year for my daughter’s 21st. Finally cannot fail to mention the Xmas decorations which were unbelievable and certainly helped that Xmas spirit last a little longer!! Well done to all at the Sport keep doing what you are doing !!!
