Hotels near Gungjung Haejangguk in Sokcho-si

Dignity Hotel is located right next to the ocean, so for sea-loving folks, this is the place for you! Naksan Temple is 20mins away, but the beautiful ocean will keep you occupied while you stroll over. Room-wise, the room is very spacious, with a large walk in dressing room and a lounging area. It is also very quiet at night (it is the countryside after all!) and you will be guaranteed a good rest. Amenities around the areas are sp**** as it is still low-season (for instance, the nearest well-stocked convenience store is 20 mins away). So I recommend to purchasing the morning buffet at the hotel restaurant so you wouldn’t go hungry in the mornings while thinking about where to explore. Regardless, I expect the area to be much more accessible during the high-season of summer, so plan accordingly! All in all, if I return to Yangyang, Dignity Hotel will be my first choice in selecting a place to stay. I had a wonderful time there.

It wasn't too big so it wasn't crowded which was nice. It was also nice to walk around Naksansa Temple early in the morning. Next time I visit, I want to go to the early morning prayer service. There is a long line for cars to enter Naksansa Temple, but it is easy to enter through the parking lot. I had to pay a separate fee for the sauna, but it would be nice if it could be used by two guests.

The room is good to sleep. I think you should just park on the street. There was a convenience store, but there was no bottled water. The wait for the elevator was too long, so I walked down when checking out. It was an accommodation with distinct pros and cons, but it was nice to sleep!

Wow, it was such a fun day that I had no idea how 2 days and 1 night went by. My son, who is serving in the military, will come here again when he goes on vacation in Yangyang.^^~ The swimming pool and sauna hot spring water is slippery~ I feel like my skin is getting better!!! Good!! Why is the breakfast buffet so good? The Jeju Island Lot***t buffet only has a lot of variety~ It was well-organized and the food and taste were really good. Since breakfast is included, the accommodation fee is actually this much and the quality is great!! Night Pocha ~ Wow ~ the food is also great A resort where both kids and adults can enjoy barbecue and beer until late at night~!! It was a choice I didn’t regret. My elementary school daughter is begging to come again. Haha~~^^

It was my first time staying in Yangyang, so I searched and stayed. The hotel's parking lot seemed limited, but there were parking spaces at the nearby sports complex and archery range, so I was able to park without much difficulty. The check-in time was generous, so there were few restrictions on movement, and it felt good to have a card key for the number of people entering the room. The facilities were really nice. It was a well-organized facility that would be suitable for living for a month, six months, or a year, and I had fun opening and looking around as if I were a person who came to see a room. The outlet that can be used even if the card key is removed stood out, and it was nice to have a built-in refrigerator, clothes dryer, and umbrella stand. I was looking for a dryer to dry my hair, but I was surprised to find an outlet right above it. What was disappointing was the lack of indirect lighting such as mood lights, and the need to prepare a separate toothbrush and toothpaste. It wasn't a location where you could see the sea out of the window, but it seemed like I stayed at a reasonable price, and I was satisfied.

I was anxious because the reviews were uploaded, but I stayed so comfortably than I thought! The facilities are clean and the service is good.

I didn't expect much for old harbor town accommodation, but it was wrong, rather best choice. 오래된 항구도시 호텔이라서 별로 기대 안했는데, 너무 좋았어요 The facilities, building itself, room are sophisticated, simple but clean and tidy. Cool air condtioned every where, in the lobby the cafe was wide and comfy, convenience store is located. 건물이나 시설이 전반적으로 세련되고 심플하지만 깨끗하고 잘 정리되어 있었어요. I booked a half-ocean view, and a little bit worried about the view, 'cause it was 'half' view, but it was needless worry. The view on 19 floor was fantastic. You can overlook the beautiful twin bridge in red and blue, the ocean and the port nearby. And the location was the best, you can visit famous tour site just on foot, the Central market, fish market, Abai soondae town, famous Hamheung naengmyun restaurant, and so on. 특히 위치가 너무 좋아요 속초 중앙시장, 회센터, 아바이 순대타운, 함흥냉면집 등등 걸어서 다 돌아다닐 수 있어서 너무 좋았어요. The only inconvenience was the elevators which need more capacity, they got only 3 lines. Parking lot was enough with 4stories underground. For general I strongly recommend, wanna visit again.

This was an accommodation I found in a hurry while on my way to a quick trip with my husband. It had just opened so it was very clean and the sea view was great. The coffee on the 6th floor was very good and the friendliness of the cafe owner was also very very good. I found an accommodation that was very cost-effective. I was so happy. I 100% intend to come back again on my next trip to Sokcho. It was great because it was right in front of Dongmyeong Port! Parking was also very convenient!!

We (2 people) booked a superior suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an incredible view on the sea. It’s the perfect place to stay to recover from a very nasty jet lag. We slept very well, enjoying each of us our own bed and room. Maybe it was the best view I ever had lying on my bed. The hotel is huge and comes with many amenities, which are well described on the website. In October the water park is closed and the hotel is pretty quiet, which is exactly what I was expecting. I personally would not come here during busy Summer holidays. The staff is very friendly and speaks enough English for helping you to book a taxi. I was happy to be told that they don’t charge any longer a deposit on your credit card, which takes then weeks to be cleared out. Instead they charge the total amount due for your stay at check-in, which I find more convenient. From the hotel (located on a hill), you can walk (along the sea) either on the left to the long sand beach, or to the right to the port, where you will find many seafood restaurants. We ate one evening at one of the hotel restaurants (Natural Soul Kitchen). The food was delicious, refreshing and healthy. To reach the hotel, we took the bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal (Gyeonbu Yeongdong Line, next to Gangnam area). It takes around 2.5 hours. The bus departing from this terminal arrives at Sokcho EXPRESS Bus Terminal, which is close to Sokcho beach and closer to the Lotte resort. Be aware that there are 2 bus terminals in Seoul from where you can reach Sokcho. At Sokcho, there is another bus terminal further north (Sokcho INTERCITY Bus Terminal). Make sure that you depart from the same terminal where you arrived if you have return tickets. We didn’t manage to buy the bus tickets online. Apparently you need a credit card issued in SKorea to be able to process the payment. So we had to go directly to the bus terminal to buy our tickets. If you want premium seats buy them several days in advance. Even if your main interest is hiking in Seoraksan National Park, I think this hotel is the perfect « base camp », as in the morning you will wake up with this beautiful sea view and at night you will fall asleep with the sound of lapping waves. I will come back for sure. The hotel, the sea, the mountains,... I didn't expect to feel so well and so energized there.

It was my first trip to Yangyang and I was so satisfied! First of all, the hotel was just opened, so everything was very clean and the staff were friendly. The scent from the hotel was so good, and the bedding was so comfortable that I fell asleep well. Soundproofing was good, and the bathroom was clean. It was good because it was about 8 minutes walk to the population beach, and the hotel was satisfied with the food and drink. Quiet and willing to stay again next time I come to Yangyang :-)
