Phoned the day before to arrange early check in, arrived to find guests from dah before just leaving so had to go away and come back later. Strong smell of bleach both in the pub itself and in the room but I guess that could be worse. Entered the room, opened the curtains to find the roof terrace, literally table and chairs against the window. Luckily it was raining so no one was outside as I can imagine you wouldn’t get much sleep. The bed itself was clean and sufficiently comfortable but the carpet didn’t look like it had been hoovered and the chair was dirty and covered in previous spillages, we didn’t even want to put our bags in it! The en-suite was serviceable and again had a strong smell of bleach but really grubby around the edges and tired. Although toilet and sink were clean. We didn’t expect bells and whistles for £49 a night but chucking bleach around doesn’t mean a place has been cleaned and we did expect that! I took one photo of something that would have been so cheap or easy to rectify yet clearly been overlooked time and time again.
