The Albert Hotel

The location is excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly. I will recommend this to my friends.

Good points - comfy bed, great sheets and pillows, and good shower , good breakfast included with lots of choice and great coffee . Bad points - fridge was dirty , room small , carpet dirty , shower a little mould , bin rusty , shower gel smelt horrible. Was shown to the room in a rush without much explanation. Noisy ( traffic ) but that was expected in town centre As breakfast was included it was a fair price at £107

First the good stuff - great location, nice, friendly staff & clean room. But ………. We were given a ground floor room which was right next to the beer garden and when I say next to I mean only our window was between us and the drinkers on the same level. To get any privacy we had to close our window, pull the curtains & put the light on! Unfortunate for a hot afternoon in August 🥵 Not great unfortunately, I think the drinkers were as embarrassed as us when they realised we were staying in this room. Also our room wasn’t serviced, I have no issue with making my own bed but for the price I shouldn’t have to 😡

Stayed in Ground floor room, beautiful white crisp bedding and soft white towels (5* for that) very friendly staff and breakfast was wonderful. For the price we paid this was in our opinion good value for money. Very close to castle and shopping areas, bus and train station in walking distance. Will visit again.

We stayed for one night as part of a visit to see Son and family. We were nicely welcomed on our arrival and shown the ropes for accessing the building and also the room. We stayed in the 'Victoria' room. It was spacious and well furnished with a separate, small sitting area and TV. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was stylish and very clean. There was also tea making facilities as well as a fridge to keep anything fresh. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. The food was good quality and well cooked and the coffee was also very nice. A sidenote - I really liked the quirky enamel mugs that the coffee was served in and asked where they came from. The lady who was serving us, as well as the chef, made sure we knew exactly where they were obtained and gave us the website details. I have now ordered some online! The location to the town is near to all local amenities and areas and the bar/restaurant attached to the hotel is class. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Once we found the hotel we realised we had to check in via The Alb pub , we were shown to our room in the next building . The Albert was a central location and the breakfast was delicious. It was just what we needed for a peaceful nights rest .

Last minute booking. Room was very comfortable and cosy with a lovely little side room with sofa and TV to relax. Nice hot shower. The staff in the adjoining THe Alb were fantastic and friendly with a good selection of drinks and cocktails. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a while

Stayed overnight for a gig at the nearby Buttermarket. Was very impressed with the presentation of the rooms. Beds very comfy. Rooms surprisingly quiet considering it’s on a main road. Breakfast ingredient quality wasn’t great though but such a small thing in the scheme of things.

The Albion is just round the corner from the train station, from the moment we got to the hotel, the staff were excellent, friendly. Checking in was easy. The room was fine everything you need for a few days away, a clean room and bathroom, and a comfy bed, plenty of tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent, it kept me full all day. The pizza we had in the evening was excellent, couldn’t eat it all, so asked for a box to take away and eat latter. The cocktails were excellent. The staff were all excellent and helpful. We will be returning again. 5 *****
