location is great for the town and Nappa Hai Lake which was awesome.A beautiful hotel full of culture. Beds are the comfiest in the world! Carol on reception was superb and help us out of a very stressful situation when the airport was closed because of snow. We were exceptionally grateful for her excellent english skills. Mark the waiter/ noodle chef was also extremely helpful. He spoke no English but was very patient with my Chinese. Many staff were off sick with covid as it was a few days after restrictions were lifted when we visited. Still everyone was working twice as hard to cover their colleagues. This lead to one of our rooms not being cleaned one day. Not the end of the world. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The only thing I was dissatisfied about was that on the third day we extended our stay, but before the check-out time, the room was booked, so we had no choice but to change it to a double room!

I can only repeat what the other reviews are mentioning: it’s clean, got good amenities, but everything seems a bit old. We had some WiFi issues but when it was working it was good. In general, the service wasn’t that great. We arrived tired after a long drive, no help with parking the car or the luggage. Check in was the most rigorous we had, even checking all the flight and train numbers we took. Also didn’t allow us to take a rest first. We went on a hike and wanted to take some Baozi from the breakfast - forbidden (I found that in China this is usually no problem). However, I think for the price it’s fine and while it doesn’t look like it, it’s quite clean. Also the dinner was quite good, breakfast not so much.

It was an antique architecture with the modern and beautiful design in the room, provided with the high quality of bed linen, blankets and towels. The floor heating in the room can reach 20 degrees when turned on. The breakfast was quite satisfactory. I have stayed in several hotels in Xiangxian County. This one is the most cost-effective. We chose this hotel for its new and modern rooms kitted with oxygen supply. We were pleased with the welcome drinks and fresh towels upon arrival. We loved our room, which included a comfortable bed, open concept bathroom with strong shower pressure, choice of designer toiletries, automated oxygen supply after 630pm to help with the high altitude, a 100 inch Xiaomi TV and quality tea minibar snacks in the room lounge area. We wished we could have a better view than the building next door but this is a small issue as we were out most of the time. We enjoyed the good night dessert left in our room every night, and we had ample Tibetan breakfast every morning, which kept us energised till afternoon. (You can also choose Chinese and Western breakfast.) The hotel provides free bottled water in the lobby, convenient before stepping out or returning from a long day. We thought there was a butler service to help with maps, travel information, transportation or tours in and around Shangri-La but maybe we were mistaken. The two female reception staff and concierge were friendly and helpful in answering our questions but they were also busy doubling up as room and breakfast service staff. Despite this, they did a good job of tending to many guests. Location of the hotel is outside of the old town. We have to take a 12-15 minute walk along a side road and cross an avenue to get to the bridge that leads you to the entrance of the old town. Not to worry, if you do not wish to walk to town (or walk back at night), taxis or DiDi aren't expensive. We would still recommend the hotel for its great value.
