Shangri-La Hotels with Airport pickup service

I can only repeat what the other reviews are mentioning: it’s clean, got good amenities, but everything seems a bit old. We had some WiFi issues but when it was working it was good. In general, the service wasn’t that great. We arrived tired after a long drive, no help with parking the car or the luggage. Check in was the most rigorous we had, even checking all the flight and train numbers we took. Also didn’t allow us to take a rest first. We went on a hike and wanted to take some Baozi from the breakfast - forbidden (I found that in China this is usually no problem). However, I think for the price it’s fine and while it doesn’t look like it, it’s quite clean. Also the dinner was quite good, breakfast not so much.

The hotel is located 1 km from the ancient town and is a 10-15 minute drive to the train station. The room was comfortable, and the water pressure and heater worked perfectly. The Wi-Fi was very stable as well. (For foreigners, do bear in mind, if you connect to hotel wifi, you would need to connect to VPN in order to use WhatsApp, IG or Youtube) This is a 9-year-old property, so there are some flaws that can be improved, but that is understandable. My only feedback is about the F&B restaurant; they only have one all-day dining option. Breakfast was alright, with more of a local selection. I stayed for two nights. On the first day, there was staff available to help me and serve my cafe latte order. However, on the second day, I did not see any staff on standby, so I had to make my own cafe latte (I had to froth the milk), which I found awkward. I wish the staff were more well trained, but I understand it is low season and the hotel probably hired part-timers for service. The best highlight of my stay was meeting a lady named Rose He, who is part of the guest services team (i think). She made recommendations on where to go and even found us a local driver to take us around. She was extremely kind and polite. We exchanged WeChat information, and she texted me when the weather turned cold or rainy. She also helped us to arrange complimentary transportation to the train station. It felt personalized. Shangri-La, if you are reading this, I believe she deserves a token of appreciation. She is the true star and a great example of “hospitality.” Overall, we were happy with our stay. Thank you.

The picture is of the hotel bar at 20.00. Totally closed. The rooms are quite modern and clean, no problems at all there. The location is a decent walk into the old town. Fine if you have a car, but there are probably better options if you're visiting the touristic locations. The biggest annoyance was when I arrived on crutches having hurt my ankle a couple of days before they just watched my struggle with my bags. After check-in, the small female receptionist did try to take my large bag, but couldn't lift. All while a larger male colleague just watched on. Breakfast was alright, not great. The worst overall mark of any of the hotels in China for me, by quite a distance.

We are travelling as a family with young kids. The location is convents located near the town centre, and 10 mins ride to airport. Besides View from room’s balcony is amazing, the staff are helpful and polite in assisting in all ways.

Yachajiao is a wonderful hotel with a spectacular location! Seated in the Tiger Leaping Gorge you have amazing views of the Yulong Snow Mountain. We stayed there for one night for our hike but if we had time we would gladly stay longer! The check in was smooth and fast, communication through WeChat was convenient and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast was a mix of Chinese and Western and gave us a good start for our hike. They have an outdoor pool with mountain views but it was sadly enough too cold in winter to try it out. The staff were friendly and very helpful! For sure we will remember this lovely guesthouse with the amazing views!

Environment: The environment of Sangzhu Villa is really amazing. It is right next to the ancient city. When you go out, you will see the lively Moonlight Square. You can also see the night view of the ancient city at night, which is particularly beautiful. The courtyard of the hotel itself is also very distinctive. It feels like walking into a ******* home, quiet and comfortable. Hygiene: The room is very clean and you can see that it has been cleaned carefully. The sheets and quilt covers are all white, without any stains, so we feel very relieved to live here. The bathroom is also very tidy, without any peculiar smell, and very comfortable to use. Facilities: The facilities are also in place. There is floor heating in the room, which makes it warm in winter. There are also Internet, TV, and ******* fireplaces. It feels very warm to chat around the fireplace at night. What surprised me most was the luxurious copper-cast bathtub. It was so enjoyable to take a bath. Service: In terms of service, the staff of Sangzhu Villa are really enthusiastic. They greeted us with a smile as soon as we entered the door. If we need any help, they will solve it as soon as possible. The breakfast is also very rich, and there is butler-style service, which feels very considerate. In general, the accommodation experience at Sangzhu Villa was really great. The environment was beautiful, the hygiene was good, the facilities were complete, and the service was thoughtful. We were all very satisfied. Next time I come to Shangri-La, I will definitely choose here again. I also recommend it to friends who are going to Shangri-La. It is definitely worth staying here!

Highly praised: 1. Full of ethnic characteristics, I like it very much 2. The room has very good lighting, and you can see the yard from the window 3. Shangri-La is very cold at night, and there are radiators and electric blankets in the room ready for sleeping, and quilts + blankets on the bed 4. The towels are disposable, and people with mysophobia can use them with confidence. There are disposable slippers and plastic slippers, and they are fully equipped 5. The store owner has a very good service attitude. The toilet light broke halfway, and he took the initiative to help me change rooms 6. The location is good, a few dozen meters away from the main road, convenient for taxis, and there are many food and drinks around, and you can also eat in the store There is room for improvement: 1. It is very shaking when going up and down the stairs, which is not friendly to friends with heavy luggage 2. Later, the hot water on the fourth floor was not warm enough, but I was in a hurry to check out, so I didn't give any feedback 3. The log house has no sound insulation, but the overall environment is quiet In summary, it is highly recommended and will be considered if I come again next time

The place is located at the border of the ancient city. Therefore it’s easy to reach all places by feet or taxi and plenty of restaurants are around. Even by minus degrees you will not feel cold in the rooms and the shower water is close to steam… - breakfast was included and is a simplified Chinese breakfast. Coffee is basically not available. Cleaning could be better especially in bathroom. The place is led by young couples and they are helpful for any organization needed, even though just with translation. Overall it’s a good option in Shangri-La for which you should not plan more than one day & night visit.

The hot tea at hotel front office is awesome. Every time when I back the hotel, I always drink the tea. Warming body , n good taste. Although the hotel a little bit old, but the price is good. The towel n bed sheet is clean n new. No smoking smell in the room. Location is good, in the big street. Easy to find. Car pooling driver can drop me in front of the hotel, so I wasn't tired to pull the luggage. Beside the hotel there is a small restaurant, price is good , suitable portion ( not big portion ) n the owner is very friendly. Hotel closed to ancient city. Staff hotel also friendly n very helpful. I stayed 3 nights here.

Located within ancient city and a short bus ride to Songzhanling Monastery. No lack of F&B and supermarket, pharmacy within walking distance from Inn. Clean room. Service is good and friendly. Toilet seems to have some leaking though, floor is always wet even before we shower. Water pressure of shower is relatively good. Breakfast is local noodle soup or western toast, eggs and yoghurt with fruits. Both are delicious.
