The Park Hotel has been a Shanghai landmark for 90 years now and is still going strong.
I appreciate the convenience of being in the city center and having at least three metro lines in front of the hotel (People’s Square station) as traffic can be bad but the metro runs reliably and on time.
Their breakfast starts a bit late at 7:00am for appointments further away but it is good and with lots of choices both Chinese and Western.
The historic decor is a plus in my opinion and their afternoon tea is quite lovely and, depending on your business partner and the situation, can be a good choice for a meeting in a relaxed atmosphere.

First of all the room was extremely dirty, bad smell. After we checked out we wanted to sit in the lobby and eat something before we left for our train, the staff came to us several times and said we can’t sit in the lobby as it was reserved! No seats anywhere else and the only free ones are reserved, for what? We told them we just wanted to eat some snacks before we left for our train. No one should stay here! service staff in the lobby near their so called cafe are extremely rude. I’ve stayed here before but never again! This place has gone downhill.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. Location is very convenient with a subway station just opposite to the hotel. Plenty of food selections nearby with the malls around and shopping district just a short walk away. Room was very clean, air conditioning working well and all basics were provided for. Would stay again if coming by.

A perfect place near the hustle bustle of Nanjing road pedestrian street , just opposite the People’s square subway station exit no 9 - green Line 2.
Nanjing road pedestrian street is just 5mins walking on the left side of the hotel.

The location of the hotel is perfect, the metro is a minute a way on foot which makes travelling anywhere very convenient. Walking distance to Nanjing Road, or go to the Museums nearby or the People's square. Room was clean and quiet.

This hotel is located about 1,5 km from the bund. Short walk for dining or shopping. The service is very good, they have people that open the door when you are coming and going they also call taxi if you ask for it. The Hotel are old but cosy, and the rooms are big and comfortable. The style look more expensive than the price for staying there. We only used the hotel for sleep and were outside most of the time, so we didn’t explore what other facilities the hotel had to offer. Very happy with our stay and recommend this hotel for others who want to visit Shanghai
