First time ever visiting China. I'm glad that I found this hostel.
I think everything was just perfect during the time I stay here.
All the staffs were amazingly friendly and nice. Specially thanks to Tao, Tang, and also qiu. Always try to help if needs.
This hostel has nice and cozy public space, I really enjoyed staying in the public area, there is a cafe so could order some coffee, soft drinks, and also beers.
I traveld a lot, and stayed lots of hostels. However, I can tell I've never seen any hostels clean than this place. Not even just kidding, you will see how clean this hostel is.
This hostel, everything was just perfect, and would love to come back if I visit Shanghai again.

중국에 처음 방문 했는데, 한국분들 상하이 방문하시면 이 호스텔 고민하지 말고 예약하세요. 같은 한국인으로서 정말 추천해요!
예약하면서 위생 청결상태나 지역을 최우선으로 보고 예약했는데 방은 프라이빗하고 충분히 넓은 공간이 있어요.
한국에서 사용하는 충전기 그대로 사용할 수 있고 USB포트도 있어요. 화장실 진짜 깨끗해요 직원 아주머니가 계속 청소합니다 진심 깨끗해요 ㅋㅋ..
그리고 개인 카드키로 열리는 사물함도 있어서 짐보관 편하고 직원들이 24시간 있고 방으로 올라갈때도 카드키로 엘리베이터 이용할 수 있어서 안전한 느낌 ㅎㅎ
제가 유럽이랑 미국 호주 뉴질랜드 아시아 동남아등등 전세계 많이 예약했는데 이렇게 만족스러운 호스텔은 처음이에요.
호스텔 근처에 로컬 맛집들 많고 매일 아침마다 가는 식당도 있었는데 너무 좋았어요 ㅎㅎ
상하이 방문하게 되면 이 호스텔 재방문 의사 100%이고 편하게 머물다가요.
마지막 호스텔 근처에 찐맛집 찾아가세요 가격도 싸고 아주머니 엄청 친절하세요 한국인이라고 맵고 맛있게 만들어주심 ㅎㅎ

The hostel provides a cozy and clean environment, with an exceptional level of service from the staff. Special thanks to Tao, who went above and beyond to assist us, making our stay truly memorable. The entire team was attentive and friendly, always ready to help with any requests. The location is fantastic—very close to Shanghai’s main railway station—making it convenient for travelers. Overall, it’s a great choice for budget-friendly comfort and convenience in the city.

Highly recommended, I had an amazing 5 nights at this hostel , very clean ( I have OCD) and secure, close to the bus , metro station, and even the hospital and many food stores , the service was excellent and smooth,( Ninghao,)very friendly staff and always ready to help , if you traveling alone you can always meet new people and talk all night. I had some very interesting conversations with many other nationalities, I will definitely go back

My second stay with at dayin hostel, as usual, service from Wu and Tang was good!
4 person bunk was spacious, laundry was easy to operate, with plenty of space to dry your clothes

Good place - location was a bit far from the subway stations (12 minutes walk), but on the plus side you get to see a more local side of Shanghai and lots of food options nearby - you can even get Chinese-style breakfast from a nearby market. Didn't try breakfast at the hostel (looked alright but I prefer Chinese breakfast), but coffee was nice.
The room was okay - I've slept in worse hostel rooms in China, but also better ones. The mattress and pillow was fine and the curtain really blocked any light so you can sleep undisturbed even if the main light is switched on, but the room is very narrow and it gets crammed when all the beds are full. Also the air-conditioning and size of the room made it really hot so it was a bit hard to sleep and not so comfortable. We tried opening the window but it didn't do much.
The staff was great and very helpful and nice, so the service level was good.
Cleaning was good - the bathrooms were cleaned often so even if people made a mess, the 阿姨 was efficient and it would be clean early next morning. Higher standard than in a lot of hostels. Also there were enough toilets, sinks and showers, and most of the toilets are Western toilets.
The lobby area is very social and you get to meet lots of friendly people, both Chinese and foreigners. So overall I recommend the place.
