The front desk is very welcoming and has a great attitude. They basically respond to all requests. The cleaning aunt is also very good. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry and is very clean. Booking a few days in advance is very cost-effective. I will stay here again next time!

I have travelled around the world and I felt like home in this hotel. The quality of the rooms for the price is amaizing. This hotel is really cheap for the good place. Even so, the best thing the hotel has so far is the service on front desk. All the workers are super nice and really helpful all the time. It’s difficult for foreigners to pay or access to different services in China. Thanks to the team, we were able to have amaizing stay and really warming experience. I really recommend.

In short, great value for money and will stay here again as the pros are more than the cons. Pros - basics are met. Aircon is cool and silent. Hot shower has good pressure. WiFi speed is a bit slow but stable. Good quality disposable slippers provided and unlimited complimentary drinking water at every level. Hotel location is great for people who wants to get away from the tourist crowd at Nanjing Road. Less than 200M to Ma Dang Rd metro station where there are 2 major shopping malls. Around 1KM to Xin Tian Di and Tian Zi Fang. Lots of USB charging points around the bed and the room. Cons - faint smoking stench when you turn on centralised air-conditioning but goes away pretty fast. My room #421 is quite close to the neighbouring block so not much privacy if curtains are not drawn. Smallest room size appropriate for 1 person so if you have 2 guests, best to select a bigger room.

In general, staff don’t speak and read English, even basic words for hospitality industry. When I first showed my booking to receptionist to check in, she didn’t check at all and told me to ask customer service in Trip. I guess she didn’t understand the booking I had shown her. So highly recommend to show chinese version of your booking to smooth check-in process. Except language barrier, everything (facilities, staff attitute, cleaness,…) is almost perfect.

The first time I came to Shanghai, I booked the Atour Hotel on Jing'an Temple West Road. The hotel is in the city and the location is very convenient. There are many restaurants and shopping malls around. It's the starting price to take a taxi to the Natural History Museum. I like the hotel environment very much. The new Chinese style, the basic black and white gray color matching is very advanced, and there is a faint fragrance when entering the lobby, which is a very comfortable fragrance. The staff is very warm and friendly. We went out to play and ended up washing our socks. The front desk was very considerate to find a pair of socks for us. The takeaway was delivered by a robot, and the clothes were washed by an auntie, which was very considerate and thoughtful. The most worth mentioning is Atour, which has lived in Chengdu, Tianjin, and Ulanqab. After walking through several cities, Atour's bedding has always been very satisfactory. The pillows at home have been replaced with the same ones, and the mattress is also soft and hard, which is very stress-relieving. This trip to Shanghai was very hurried, but I was very happy and satisfied to meet Atour!

Very convenient location. On a street that always has bikes, very close to Nanjing West station. Reception service is amazing and people are very nice. Clean and good amenities. Price to performance ratio is good, especially for the higher prices in Shanghai. Will come here again the next time I visit.

We had a wonderful experience with the Guisu property for an 8-day stay. For a group of 5, this was much more convenient and cost-effective than having to book separate hotel rooms. I booked this room for my family, who was visiting China for the first time. Communicating with the host was very easy, and they responded very fast to any inquiry, sending over items, such as house slippers, within minutes upon request. Our communication was all in Chinese, so it may be helpful to have someone familiar with the language. What my family liked most about Guisu was that they felt like they were immersed in the city, experiencing the real life of a Chinese neighborhood, which a hotel may not be able to provide. The property was next to an elementary school, and while we were woken up each day by the sound of the children, it was nevertheless a pleasant, authentic, experience. The amenities and facilities all worked well, and the kitchen is stocked with dishes and utensils. Even if you are not cooking yourself, it is convenient to have all of this on hand. I would certainly recommend Guisu Homestay to other friends visiting Shanghai. The location near West Nanjing Road made it easy to walk everywhere, such as to People's Square or nearby parks. It is also close enough to the metro station, for a quick ride to other popular areas or train stations.

Had a great stay here with my 79 year old dad who was visiting from the US. The check in process was easy and the staff were accommodating. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom had soap, lotion, shampoo, etc, containers. There was a full soaking tub and separate shower. I was pleased with the shower mat that could be used in the shower. The material and absorbancy of the towels were great. My dad was very pleased with the comfort of the bed after such a long flight, as was I. Likewise, he was exceptionally pleased with the buffet breakfast as there were many delicious options, mostly Chinese style, but plentiful and again delicious. Though, there is a lot to see just outside the door, we didn't explore as we were only there for one night. I highly recommend staying at this Crowne Plaza location as I would stay again. Also, just a short walk to the People's Corner metro stop.

Check-in wasn’t a good experience, but the hotel was okay after that. When I first checked-in, the room key cards I was given didn’t work, which was frustrating as the room was one of the furthest from reception. This meant I had to go all the way back for new keys after a long day. I just wanted to relax! Then the second room I was given didn’t match the photos on Trip.com, in particular it didn’t have a real window, looking over the dining area rather than outside. But when finally settled into the third room, the stay was okay. It was supposedly an upgrade, but it only looked like the room I had booked. The location is the big plus: right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street which leads to the Bund, both iconic locations that are great to visit. I didn’t have the breakfast as there were no spare seats, so I went to a nearby McDonald’s instead. The hotel needs to enlarge its dining area.

It's my 2nd stay here in this hotel, as I like the location away from the central city noise of bustle. My room space and its minimalist design was simply perfect. Service team has always been helpful & friendly, on both my stays whenever approaching them for assistance. Super thanks to 李敏，康骁 , Parris , the senior uncle on night duty, and a new face 小商，for their excellent service, patience, and ever assisting with a smile. It's this little effort in their hospitality going out a long way, making my stay comfortable. Housekeeping aunties were no lack on greeting with a smile, neat and prompt tidying up my room. I shan't say much about the breakfast spread, as I figure it's catered more for local palette. All else, my stay was enjoyable.
