The hotel by the Savannah River should be the best local hotel among the regular hotels. The only dissatisfaction is that the management is a bit messy. We have been deducting our credit card at random, and the fee has never been clarified. Through the unremitting communication of the Ctrip housekeeper, it is finally confirmed that the overcharge has been charged. I have not received a refund yet. I hope everything goes well.
Love this hotel directly on River St with easy access to food, shops, and river. Have stayed here all 3 trips to Savannah and will continue when we come again. The customer service is great beginning with the valet and this carries all the way through to housekeeping. Love it. See you again soon
Location is great because has a public parking lot right across. Check the map at lobby before you start walking or can end up walking unnecessary miles. Love the Breakfast and price was reasonable. Room was very clean and beds are super comfortable.

Step back in time to the historic row cottages of the 19th century at this Savannah Historic District hotel! Recreating the quaint ambiance of the workers cottage, the unique architecture of the property is unlike any hotel in Savannah. Your visit begins at the front desk in Charlton House, where you are warmly greeted in a homelike atmosphere. Cherish the look and feel of the historic architecture, while enjoying the modern comforts of home, including high definition LCD TV, free high-speed wireless Internet, and spacious studio, 1 or 2-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens. Enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. This Savannah, Georgia hotel is located steps from the Roundhouse Railroad Museum and Battlefield Memorial Park.
Perfect spot to rest your head after spending the day in the historic district- it’s quiet, clean and beautiful. A quick walk to the riverfront and a fantastic view of the ships coming through on the river.
By the river, the room is quite small, the window can see the river, the travel is very convenient, the surrounding seafood is very good, it should be a good hotel in Savannah, parking is quite convenient
The hotel is great and is located perfectly in historic Savanna. Everything is within walking distance. If you like the sound of yapping dogs, then this is the hotel for you! We had the experience of yapping dogs next door to our room. The dogs barked during the day and night. After the third complaint to the hotel staff, the sound of barking yapping dogs ceased. The hotel staff said they would take care of it and it seems that they did. Keep your animals at home. There is no need to inconvenience others because of your selfishness. Dogs aren’t children. I’d rather hear the sound of children than yapping dogs. I will certainly find a hotel that doesn’t allow dogs on my next visit to Savannah. Breakfast at the hotel is not worth it. I recommend going to one of the local establishments. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
🍃Environment: The room facilities are not very old because it has been opened for less than three years. Normal wear and tear rate. The design of the building is very good. Compared with other downtown hotels, it is much quieter at night.
🚗 Transportation: The entrance is the station. It is very convenient for scad students to live here
🧹Hygienic: During the epidemic period, alcohol cotton pads will be provided for staying in. If the stay is connected, no daily cleaning service will be provided. Only the garbage and new bath towels will be taken out.
🔔Service: The service is still very good. If you have any requirements, the front desk will try its best to meet
Wow, how to begin. The hotel and rooms are quite beautiful and the never ending view along the river with the almost constant movement of gigantic ships, is mesmerized. The location is also perfect with enough restaurants and shops within close proximity that you can find plenty to keep occupied even on the occasional rainy day. Now, with all that said, a caveat to any travelers wanting any semblance of rest. The second floor rooms are pure nightmare. There appears to be some sort of a supply room on that floor. The staff likes to use it for rather loud gossip and partying and when not in use by the staff, there apparently is a bowling league practice in there! The noise from tables and chairs and dishes being moved around at times even late into the night is just aggregating! The walls offer absolutely NO help in reducing the racket. Would we return to River Street Inn again? YES! As a matter of fact, we can't wait to return but, only if we would be guaranteed a room on the 4th or 5th floor!
It was just in the outskirts of the historic district, so the location lending to a little more sketchiness on the outside. We made sure to leave nothing in the car. Once in the hotel we felt completely safe and secure. The hotel room was well used… they. Phoebe cleaned the bathroom better. The pool was a gross color. But for the price we were able to walk to all of the historic places in Savannah we wanted to, as well as get a good nights sleep and a good breakfast in the morning. Overall if I can back to Savannah I’d probably opt to pay more to stay somewhere nicer, but this fit the bill for the time being.

Outstanding
From the moment you arrive you are greeted with exceptional hospitality. The Inn is absolutely stunning. Pictures do not do justice on how well taken care of this historic home is under the management of Hamilton-Turner Inn. When you arrive be sure to sign the guest book and under the table is maps of the city along with a trolley map. They come in handy. The Inn offers many great amenities including bikes to explore the area with. Daily in the parlor there is complimentary fruit infused water along with fresh fruit and cookies. Early evening they have happy hour which consists of wine and hors d’oeuvres. My husband brought it up to our room for us to enjoy while I was getting ready for dinner. If you are back to the Inn before 10 pm after going out to dinner, they offer port wine and fresh cookies from 8 to 10 in the parlor. We were able to enjoy them one night during our stay as we got back in time. We stayed in the carriage house, room 503. It was on the stop floor. There are no elevators of course but that was ok with us. If you cannot climb stairs, I suggest staying on the first floor. The carriage house is directly behind the main house, just a few steps away. It was very quiet. I am a light sleeper so I knew regardless if we stayed in the carriage house or main, I would want a top floor. In the main house there are 4 levels. The old servant quarters are rooms in the basement and then there are 3 levels above. If you like to sleep in and do not want to hear noise I probably wouldn’t stay on the main level as that is where the parlor is, the dinning room ,and reception desk. The carriage house was completely renovated not too long ago. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The bed had a memory foam mattress and was comfortable. We have a sleep number at home and like many no bed is as comfortable as your own, but I slept great at the Inn. Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room. It is southern style and absolutely delicious. We honestly could not have asked for a better stay. It was a short weekend trip this time but we will definitely come back and stay at the Inn. We absolutely loved our stay.
Just came back from 5 nights stay. Loved loved it! Shout out to Aby and Theresa at the front desk. So professional, helpful and fun! Loved seeing their Chic fun eye glasses every day! Aby upgraded us to High floor River front, what a great view, watched the vessels, ferries and Savanna Queen pass by every day! Mark the concierge very nice and helpful, booked hop/off bus tour w him. Location is the best! Walk to shops, restaurants, river, historical sites in just minutes. Right next to The Pink house ( great food btw). Other hotels claim they are in best location, but we found they were closer to highway overpasses and we were so glad we picked the HI express !! Used the Roof top Pool and jacuzzi every day! Hotel Bar hours not open during our stay. Bkfst standard continental, but convenient to start the day and save our $ for lunches or dinners! Beds comfortable. Great WiFi and hot water! Rooms spacious. Has a room safe. Highly recommend and Will def return on our next trip!
田田The price is relatively low. Breakfast is super simple buffet. A baby cot can be added, and other beds cannot be added. The room and living room are very small. Although there is a sofa bed in the living room, there is almost no space for the living room after opening. There is a parking lot but there is an additional charge. The location of the hotel is also far from the river, about 20-30 minutes. Based on the above situation, I feel that the hotel's price/performance ratio is not high! I don't understand why there are so many praises...
GGuest UserFirst let me state I have ZERO clue why anyone would rate this hotel as anything other than a terrible rating!! The owners of this hotel should be ASHAMED!! It’s completely run down and nothing that you should expect in a major tourist city of a boutique hotel in a historic district!! Nothing against the management or all of the staff here who are very kind and do their best to accommodate requests; but the hotel is run down, so dirty down in the mezzanine area where a main toilet is for guests; the lobby when we first walked in had litter around the rugs and the furniture was so dusty!! That was my first impression and I should have listened to instinct and canceled our stay instead of waiting for our room to be ready. I did comment on how unkempt and dirty the lobby was to the front desk and that I hoped that our room would be clean. We then left for a few hours to walk around and eat. Impression of the immediate surrounding area wasn’t any better. You’re right by the beautiful and historic Olde Pink House and Reynolds Square and the streets are filthy, covered in cigarette butts and litter, and the park immediately across the street is filled with people from the homeless shelter right down the block. They were all very respectful, however this was unexpected. Upon return the lobby had been cleaned at least and we were shown to our room. Our luggage had been stored and when brought back, there was a large yellow stain on my suitcase. The walls in the mezzanine are yellow so I have zero clue if storage does and if so, how this stain appeared that looks like the paint. We stayed in one of the two balcony rooms that overlook the park. The room next to us had the door wide open and fans running to air out what I can only assume was the extreme mustiness that greeted us in our completely run down room, with old disgusting carpet I would never walk on in bare feet; the most uncomfortable squeaky bed with a huge dip in the middle, pillows that felt like they were stuffed with peas, and bedding that while clean, was pilled and also ancient in appearance. It only gets worse from there with the poorly lit bathroom that you can’t see to do your makeup; a toilet that when you flush it you could get sucked down into it and if you don’t close it before you flush, you’ll get all sprayed with whatever you just put into it; ancient paint that looks like it has veins growing under it and is bubbled and marred; the most uncomfortable towels that aren’t soft; a floor I again didn’t want to walk on in bare feet; and a shower/tub combo that fills with water as you shower and again looks dirty, but is just so old there’s no way to scrub the dinginess out of it. The ‘balcony’ is shared and had two small iron tables with chairs and was covered in old bird poop. Again, you overlook the square instead of the loud parking garage on this side, but the view of the square isn’t as expected, plus the patio door sticks; doesn’t seem secure when locked; and the windows ar
GGuest UserStaff were exceptional--everyone from front desk staff to the bartender and breakfast staff. All very nice and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and had what we needed. They don't have a gym on site but have a relationship with a local gym for hotel guests (if that matters to you). We were able to walk into the downtown area and felt safe doing so (about .5 miles from our hotel) but they also offer a shuttle with a very lovely driver who took great care of us! I would recommend this hotel if staying in Savannah.
LLaojiangThis hotel is located in the urban area and the rooms are small, but the health and service are okay. There is no free parking lot. You need Valet Parking, which means a black person will park the car for you every time. It costs $35 a day, which is expensive! Parking is convenient and you have to wait a while to pick up the car. I feel like free parking lots in the suburbs are more convenient to get in and out of. There are not many kinds of breakfast, just a few kinds, the sausage is quite delicious.
GGuest UserAs a Savannah local, we can’t say enough about the Desoto and its staff. We evacuated from the islands for Hurricane Ian and were fortunately granted a safe stay-cation in our beautiful city. We loved that the hotel was pet friendly so we could bring our sweet pup, Miss Lady, with us. She had a wonderful time as the staff and guests were most attentive. Our room was lovely and well appointed. The hotel itself is beautiful, has great onsite amenities, and frankly, you can’t beat its central location. Walk either direction along Bull Street and you are right where you want to be. Thank you Mitch, Becky, and all of the spectacular hospitality team at the Desoto. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserThe hotel is located on the edge of the historic district, so it is a quick 10-15 minute walk to either River Street or even Forsyth Park. Even the standard suites are larger than most other similar properties. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were above average. All employees from the front desk to the breakfast servers and cleaning staff were very pleasant and friendly. Rated lower in the facility category as the outside landscaping by the sidewalks was **** filled and over grown. This really detracted from the exterior appearance. The fitness was large and has a good amount of cardio equipment but only had one, torn workout bench, no area/mats for core work and the hand weights were missing all 20lb and 25lb pairs. There should be other strength training options. The breakfast food options were presented in an attractive manner with good over all quality.
PPINGThere is a parking lot opposite, but the charge is not cheap. I lived in a sofa bed, the service staff was very kind and very safe. After 11 o'clock in the evening, the door was closed and the card was checked in. There was a black brother on duty at the door. The bed is very comfortable and very high. It is very high. I use it. The old beauty facilities are simple and practical. They are not luxurious but not refined but strong!
