Camali Hotel

Awesome place! An urban oasis! Truly and highly recommend it to anyone planning to travel to Santa Marta. Staff was very friendly and helpful - I don't have any electronic gadgets and they gave me very helpful tips and guides in navigating myself around including going to Tayrona Park on my own taking public transportation. Their breakfast was great - truly home cooking! My room was very comfortable. I only stayed for two nights and wished I stayed longer to explore more Santa Marta use the hotel's facilities like the shared kitchen. This is also a great hotel for families - the pool is "private" and very clean. For a time, I felt it was like it was a home away from home particularly because my spoken Spanish is not so good and yet I was understood well. The location is authentic, nothing polished or showcased. While a taxi is highly recommended for night/evening, you'll get a real feel of how people live there - neighbors sitting in a house's porch to chat and spend the afternoon away, fruit vendors pushing their carts, students playing in the park after school hours, in nearby Avenida Liberator people lining up in a medical supply clinic early in the morning, etc. Amazingly a great cultural experience! Very different from where I live now but also a great learning lesson and appreciation of how we all live differently yet also similarly in some ways.

Beautiful and clean property with a great pool area and lots of open shared spaces to hang out in. We had a lovely room, decent size and it had its own balcony. The staff are excellent, helped us with restaurant recommendations, calling taxis and organised a cheap and good laundry service for us (a godsend as we’re travelling for 6 months).

An amazing hotel in a great location! The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and friendly! The pool is kept super clean and so are the rooms. The atmosphere is tranquil and feels like a small paradise. I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a luxurious experience for a great price right in Santa Marta just a 10' walk from the old town.

Camali Hotel is paradise. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Santa Marta. The staff are lovely, the pool area is a tropical oasis with beautiful palm trees, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is great. The area around the hotel is cute and you can walk to a small park, restaurants, ATM, and a grocery store. The front desk can call you a taxi to town.

Spent 4 nights in this quaint hotel. Well located. Many restaurants nearby and 15 min walk to Centro. Staff very nice and helpful, although english very limited. Comfortable but basic rooms. ( no hair dryer… ) Decor very nice with lits of vegetation and animals.

I stayed here for a week after injuring my back on a boat trip to Tayrona from Santa Marta. It is a lovely modest hotel full of caring staff and delightfully designed. It has a lovely though a bit chilly swimming pool and plenty of seating around it. It has a little honesty bar where you just take and sign. Breakfast is a little repetitive but hey it isn’t an expensive hotel. It is by parque cundí, a 20 minute walk from the historic quarter if you don’t take a taxi and 30 minutes by car from Rodadero beach The parque is surrounded by local restaurants and at weekends it is packed with tables everywhere. I had a lovely burger at La Gloriosa. There is a marvellous pizza place, Little Ouzo, - 10 minutes walk away. Everyone all around was really friendly
