Hotel Adonis Plaza
3.9/554 Reviews
I spent a night at the Adonis Plaza last week before boarding a cruise and am currently back at the hotel for a night at the end of the cruise before flying home tomorrow. Last week was a pleasant stay in a quiet, clean room (number 407) with comfortable bed and nice/modern bathroom. Today is sadly a different experience. I was told my room would be ready at 2pm; the time came and went and the room still wasn't ready so the receptionist - who was very helpful - said she would give me a different room (number 614). Similarly equipped to the room I had last week unfortunately this has a connecting door to the adjacent room and the noise is terrible! I can hear every word spoken next door as loud as if the people were in my room. Also, despite being on the sixth floor, there is a lot of noise from the street outside. The rooms with connecting doors are only suitable for families not for people who don't want to have to listen to everything said by the guests next door. Sadly, I would not stay at the hotel again which is a shame as the staff are very pleasant and the hotel is well located for the cruise port.
Hotel Tanausu
3.6/58 Reviews
Not so large hotel in Santa Cruz centrally located very close to the Nuestra Senora de Africa market. The room was rather small having built-in wardrobe, TV, fancy colonial style bed and bathroom with shower and bidet. No fridge. There is a tiny balcony, which gives only space only for standing, but offers quite a good view over the city. The room lacked electrical sockets. I had to unplug lamp next to the bed to get a free one for phone charging. There are rooms, which has window to the street, which is rather busy and noisy, but I had no problem as I sleep with earplugs. Other side of hotel oversees yards and should be calm. There is 24 hours reception, so late arrival is possible. The day staff speaks very good English, while night-shift made me practice my basic Spanish. The hotel has free WiFi, but only on second floor, where is common area with sofa, table and chairs. 700 meters to the Santa Cruz main bus station. 550 m to Mercadona, there is SuperDino in Nuestra Senora de Africa market in 200m. Lidl and Carrefour in 1.1 km. There is only one beach Playa ***** in Santa Cruz in 1.7 km from the hotel behind a lido Parque Marítimo César Manrique. But swimming is now allowed due to bad quality of water. So the options are the lido with 5€ entrance or take a bus 910 or drive to a beautiful beach of Playa de Las Teresitas. It takes about 40 minutes by bus to reach La Laguna, historical capital of Tenerife.
Apartamentos Bruja

The apartment was pretty good and had the basics like a small kitchen, washing machine, etc. It could definitely use some renovation, but overall everything was fine. I was on the 8th floor and the view from the balcony was really nice. There is also a rooftop terrace which is great. Location is good, you can easily walk to the farmer’s market and city centre, and there is also a bus stop in front of the building.
Hotel Principe Paz
4.1/564 Reviews
Pros: Great location on a pedestrian street across from a pretty park with lots of cafes and shops. Also close to other attractions within walking distance. The hotel was absolutely spotless in all areas that I visited. In the guest room, the sheets were ironed and the bed made up perfectly. Check in and check out were performed efficiently and professionally. Every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. I requested a bathtub, and I got one. :-) My room (#311) faced the park, but was very quiet. The windows must be a sound-insulating type. The breakfast was part buffet style (coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, sliced bread & a toaster oven, jelly, butter and other condiments) and part menu (eggs, meats & cheese, pastries, fruit, etc.) and was quite adequate to insure that you won’t walk away hungry. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room had a neutral smell—no dirty scents or perfumed scents. The window opened if you want fresh air. There is also a thermostat for cool or warm air conditioning. There is a restaurant on floor 1 with a bar and comfortable TV lounge. Also self-service coffee, tea and water available 24/7. Electrical outlets and light switches are conveniently located on each side of the bed just above the bedside table. There are comfy extra blankets folded inside a plastic bag on the top shelves of the closet. There is a safe for valuables, but I think you need to get the key from reception, and there may be a charge. The TV had a variety of channels, but seemed to be satellite rather than cable. Limited foreign languages. I saw German, Russian, English and French in addition to Spanish, but only a couple of each. I watched BBC News in English. In general, the Sercotel Principe Paz is an excellent value for the money. Cons: (The “cons” are not complaints, but only meant to be thorough and honest in order to help future guests and hotel management.) There is no passenger or luggage drop off area. You will need to walk at least half a block if you arrive by taxi, or farther if you drive and park your own car. There are several parking garages nearby where you can park for 24 hours for €6,95. The two and only elevators are very small (typical) and very slow, so you may have to wait some time for your turn, or else take the stairs. The water sprayer for the shower in the bathtub leaked. The bathroom mirror was a little rusty on the edges—nothing but a frame needed here. There was a crack in the porcelain lid of the toilet. There were no bags for sanitary napkin disposal. The wooden furniture in room 311 was dated and a little worn. The windows did not lock. There is no coffee machine, kettle, minibar or refrigerator in the room (but you can go to the buffet area on floor 1 and find coffee and some other goodies). There was no bottled water in the room. The poached eggs I ordered for breakfast were cold—very cold. I suppose they were precooked and refrigerated. The breakfast food in general,
NH Tenerife
4.2/575 Reviews
NH Tenerife far exceeded my expectations in terms of customer service. The hospitality has gone above and beyond anything that I have experienced before. I lost my carry-on suitcase and Juan P. made sure to help me every step of the way. His genuine concern and professionalism were evident. He persistently called the airline, located online claims I needed to file, and helped support me with my lack of fluency in Spanish. I rarely ever post a review, but Juan P. has worked so effectively and efficiently that it prompted me to encourage others to stay at this hotel for Juan P. In most hotels - the amenities and location are similar, the one OUTSTANDING factor for NH Tenerife is the customer service from Juan P. His dedication to ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience left a lasting impression on me. I highly commend Juan for his astonishing efforts and the hotel for fostering a culture of guest-centric service.
Hotel emblemático Hi Suites
4.6/548 Reviews
Introduction: the Emblematico Hi-suites hotel is made up of different types of accommodation. Personally, I occupied a suite on two floors (the upper floor was actually located in a mezzanine) and the content of the review refers to this. The accommodation is undoubtedly very suggestive, inside a historic building in Santa Cruz, recently restored with good taste. The location is excellent, central, in an overall pleasant context. Very appreciable, if you book in advance, is the availability of some reserved parking spaces in the Santa Rosa de Lima street below. The accommodation consists of a living area, equipped with a small kitchen, a very comfortable sofa and a panoramic TV. On the mezzanine above, the double bed, a wardrobe area and the bathroom, as well as a second television. Upon closer examination, some ”defects” emerge, which are all in all trivial: not all the materials used have the merit they appear to have, the wardrobe space is not very plentiful, and a few hangers in the bathroom wouldn't have gone amiss. Then there is the question of the mezzanine, an extremely suggestive element (which in my case positively influenced the choice), but a little uncomfortable due to the ups and downs it forces guests to do. But if you don't mind climbing a few flights of stairs (which isn't bad for your health), I'd say there are no problems. Even the breakfast formula, served directly in the room (there is no special space in the hotel) can be liked or not, but I absolutely do not consider it a flaw. Overall I was very satisfied, and the overall impression clearly prevails over the aspects that might, for some, arouse some doubts. I therefore go for the maximum rating.
