It's the smell of head oil. It's not the reason I slept for a few days, it's the first night. Just smell it! You can ignore it if you don't mind! After all, I can endure it for a few days 😥

Wifi constantly drops in day paying wont make it better. Cleaning is poor will only do fast job on floor, some of bathroom every TWO weeks !? or after move out since Covid. Used to be weekly and whole room clean. They dont clean microwave, stove.fan hood ,fridge said won't dust or clean furniture counters window sills if you have things on any part of tables/dressers or even when you dont .TV windowsill underbed are now thick with dust is why I asked what is wrong. Said we have to clean our own rooms but for floor tub toilet and sinks. Wont give TP you have to wait in a line at front desk to ask when you run out.and for fresh towels Lots more possible COVID exposure in that. i had to move out of accessible room due to noise and now they even changed shower heads so its very hard to wash hair etc They said to save water. i got that surprise Friday night with no notice. Now my 5 minute showers will be 20. Not such a water savings, and even harder for me. This used to be a great place . Sadly I'm here in a disabled veterans program to avoid homelessness during Covid but its Less clean than it was and my choice noise outside room not dealt with was accessible or sleep wasn't good. Now no real cleaning? . Other longer term guests clean themselves or hire outside maids. There is not enough storage or accessibliity for long term stays and that you need to store things on dresser and tables is used as more excuse to not clean. What a shame they have lowered cleaning and room supply standards when saying they are higher. Been here 6-8 months and hearing more and more complaints .Not sure what local corporate is thinking -doing less while advertising it's more.

My wife has been an IHG member for 14 years and they usually are pretty good places to stay. We booked this place for a week thinking it was in Irvine. The name is “Candlewood Suites IRVINE WEST” but actually is in Santa Ana. (I would never have booked if I knew it was in Santa Ana.) We arrived there and were put in a disgusting old room that smelt terribly of smoke even though it was a no smoking room. It smelt like someone had smoked an entire pack of cigarettes and then locked all the doors up for a week. We didn’t bother complaining as I was so exhausted and didn’t have the energy to pack up our stuff and move again, we just slept with the window open so that we didn’t feel sick. The sink was grotty and also smelt bad. The insinkerator clearly had some stuff stuck down there that had been rotting so when you turned it on it smelled awful. My wife's friend came to visit me and was worried about me leaving her guitar or any of her valuables there if I was going out because it just felt unsafe and sketchy. Lo and behold our car got broken into in the parking lot on Christmas Eve - smashed window and stolen purse full of gift cards worth over $500. The hotel were very unhelpful. They said there were no cameras/cctv (really, in Santa Ana??) They said they would try and help with the cost of fixing the car and they were going to put a claim in for us. They gave me the run around having to speak to a bunch of different people, call multiple times, email back and forth, only to find out 2 months later that they denied our request and there’s nothing they can do. This place has a nursing home vibe. I felt unsafe from the beginning before the car was even broken into. Very disappointing for IHG. I’m surprised they own this property. Really unhappy that they mislead you into thinking you’re staying in Irvine, then have no CCTV in the parking lot, and then say they aren’t liable. Seriously do not stay here. I’m shocked that they not only put us in a dingy, smelly room but then did nothing to help us, even as IHG members.

The Manager has BEYOND the BEST team working for her. The Manager is ALWAYS going ABOVE & BEYOND to assure that ALL her guests are COMPLETELY taken care. PIA is a VERY STRONG part of this team. PIA is ALWAYS willing to help a guest to a fellow Co Worker with any task thrown her way. Our Ms Gnocchi will vouch for her all day long. MONICA is another VERY STRONG part of this team. She is always going ABOVE & BEYOND to get done whatever task needs to be completed. YOUSSEFF is our shy yet goofy guy who will make you smile and laugh even on a day when you are not having it. He will be GREATLY MISSED THE MANAGER, PIA & MONICA have saved us on a couple of occasions when we were in a desperate way in need of help. We both refer to ALL three of them as our GUARDIAN ANGELS. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL AND BEYOND BLESSED TO HAVE THEM HERE AND BECAUSE OF THEM IS WHY WE STAY HERE & NO WHERE ELSE SINCERELY, ROBERTO, JENNIFER & MS. GNOCCHI HERNANDEZ 🐾🙏😇🤗🤗🐾

I was charged a $100 late check out fee when I did not even check out late! Beware of the fraudulent charges added for no reason!! Betty at the front desk is the rudest person that makes the company look bad!! I called from the room to ask why the were calling me at 10am and she said, “We did not call you!” I told her that why are they calling me at 10am when checkout is not till later and she said check out is at 12:30 and hung up on me. I called back and I told I asked why she hung up on me if I was asking her a question and her answer was that because she had answered my question and then she hung up. I left on time and when I leave the property we receive an alert for a $100 late charge fee. This extremely disappointing and even though I do business in the area my colleagues and myself can take our clients else where! I am looking forward to hearing back from the manager Sandy Warner, which is the general manager of the property, to get that charged disputed and refunded! Even after this bad experience i can say that the two pleasant and professional front desk representatives that helped, Priscilla and Klum did help alleviate a bit of the distress by helping me in pointing me in the right direction so that o can take this higher up to their general manager. I hope this all get resolved as it should because this is clearly not right!!
