This hostel is by far the friendliest of all the others I have been to in Europe. The employees make the stay much more enjoyable by organising and personally taking you to all the best & fun places explore the culinary delights of the Old Town in San Sebastian. Sarah & Alex are genuinely helpful, friendly and accommodating. The location of Surfing Etxea is less than 5 minutes’ away from Zurriola Beach, the preferred beach for surfing, and less than 15minutes away from the Old Town and La Concha beach. The coach station is also within walking distance The hostel is very clean and feels homely, with an amazing balcony (not facing the beach) kitchen & bathroom facilities. The only downsides are the rules, and there are a few, are quite strict. Perhaps the most uncharacteristic rule for a hostel is, the strictly no alcohol policy and ‘silence’ after 11pm Overall, it’s a delight to stay here for a reasonable budget and I would recommend it to solo travellers, surfers and people who like making friends

I was amazed by all these wonderful people who work here and were so friendly and helpful. They all seem to really enjoy having guests and getting to know them - you feel very welcome here and they have a surf-room where you can leave the boards and the wetsuits to dry which is such a great add-on when you can actually put on a dry wetsuit in the early mornings after having had a great coffee from their own little coffee bar. I was able to go surfing in the early mornings because they would already open the door to the surf-room for me.

An absolute diamond to stay. Great family atmosphere, very clean, very helpful staff including owners, next to the beach, surf equipment in good conditions! Would go back any time! Well done and thanks for having me.

Can't complain too much very comfortable, clean, relaxed hostel. Very close to the beach and plenty of options for food close by. Staff very friendly. I would definitely stay in this hostel again. Rent surf boards and skate boards 15euro for 3 hours.

The location is magnificent, 2 minutes from Zurriola beach, and 15 minutes from the old town as well as La Concha beach. The staff is warm, helpful and smiling. The bed is comfortable, the locker is spacious, and the showers are clean. Very good experience, I highly recommend!

A localização é ótima a alemã que trabalha lá é super simpática,mas o local peca por ter quartos muito apertados e quem fica no quarto perto da cozinha não consegue dormir por causa de todos falando lá. Não permite que levem bebida alcoólica pra lá.
