This hotel under the three-star Michelin restaurant can only be described as perfect, with its beautiful scenery and dishes, as well as the 5J breakfast that is always provided.

We loved our time at Akelarre and hope to return. The location and the views are spectacular. The hotel staff were very professional and thoughtful -- helping us to plan activities in the area. The hotel design and overall aesthetic is beautiful including the rooms. We ate at the hotel several times -- the service and food were outstanding with many options of regional food and fresh/local ingredients.

Excellent attention, except in room service where they lack to satisfy simple requests such expanding their short-sided menu with items from their restaurant (though sharing the same kitchen).

Dirty dishes left in the room three days in a row. Laundry done improperly. Management is unequipped to offer solutions to any issue. They just apologize and seem baffled at the suggestion that their job is to actually deal with the problem.

The location is awesome. The hotel is a piece of art. Breakfast was excellent and with very friendly staff. The concierge was very very helpful with except tips from town and sorroundings. Jon and his friend helped a lot!!! The cocktails was very expensive but very inventive. the PCC was awesome. The distance from town never borrowed me. Go with your car and park in various parkings. Taxis as 15 euros. And you can do from Igueldo to urgull walking. Come back by taxi. My criticism is that they should use more the space they have outside more wisely and usefully.

The hotel is located high above San Sebastian, the rooms and the view are very good, but the service offered has no relation to the price! The gym really doesn't deserve the name! 3(!) devices in a 15sqm room is incredible. The pool is also in a dark side room, very small and never used, not worthy of a Relaix & Chardon! Furthermore, there is not a single possibility to sit outside, sunbathe or simply chill out without going to the bar. The reception and the processing of the invoice were not at all satisfactory. The receptionists insist on an incomprehensible process and also become unfriendly. So they didn't want to cancel a credit card reservation as long as the room wasn't checked for damage... At the same time, however, a debit should be made for additional costs.

Nice hotel but would not recommend it to anyone as the management was rude and unwelcoming. Honestly, never been treated so poorly in a supposedly high quality hotel.
