The Housekeepers I met along the way to my room were also very nice people since they took the initiative to greet me. The room was nice and clean. The hotel is just 100 meters from the 16th Mission Street exit. The owner is a Panamanian (Indian) and the service is very warm. The size of the house is small, except for the public shower and toilet, the rest are private. There are many black people downstairs, but they are safer than you think. Single girls are not recommended to travel alone at night.

I stayed here during a conference where the price was raised to $240/night. If the price had been quite a bit lower as it might normally be, I probably wouldn't complain much. The location is hard to beat in terms of proximity to Union Square and the Moscone Center, and the front desk staff was friendly. Other reviews have noted that the rooms are dated--and I found that to be true as well. But, my room was clean. The wifi worked, and the rooms were insulated from noise from adjoining rooms. However, there was hardly any noise isolation from the outside. I was on the 6th floor facing Geary Street, and I could hear just about everything going on well into the evening. The heat in my room was also not working until my last night there--and that combined with very thin covers left me pretty cold (though the bed itself was comfortable). When the heat did work, it made a strange noise reminiscent of a dying cat, so I ended up turning it off anyway. One tip for taller or larger travelers: I am 5' 2'', and the shower head was only 2 inches above my head. So if you're much taller than me, you'll be bending down to rinse your hair. You'll also find the bathroom overall to be quite small.

The hotel is very good and it is very good to have a good bathroom and a good bathroom. No air condition but it is not warm so for us (september) no problem. To the BART is 5-10 minutes walk and then it is 20 minutes to the center. No charge of swifters and we also felt safe on the street when we walked back at 23.30 hour on the evening. Breakfast is free, so you don't expect anything from it. What bread, jam, butter, fruit, milk, coffee and pre-packed cookies. But if you don't find this, you can always get somewhere else to breakfast.

The hotel itself is lovely, the staff were so friendly and the room huge and clean. The only downside we had was the amount of homeless and drug users in the road outside the hotel who were sometimes loud, we were advised to not walk the road at night and to never walk alone. The hotel was lovely though so if you can look past the people outside it’s worth it.

Westfield shopping mall and Powell Station metro/bus stop are just around the corner. Amazing location. Classic hotel that offers contactless check-in. Our room was modern and elegant. Opened by Indians, very close to the business district. Must live on the street, the hotel is a square, there is a patio in the middle, some rooms are facing the patio, very depressed, must rely on the street, facing south or west. There are many blacks in the south of the hotel, the elevator is very wonderful, old-fashioned, need to pull the iron gate, the first time I was shocked, but then lived next to a hotel called Aldrich, witnessed a more terrible elevator. Breakfast is relatively simple and there is no area to eat. There is no air conditioning and heating, but the quilt is barely enough. But the price is really cheap. Note that some have no separate bathroom, I can't accept it completely. I have a separate bathroom. I have to pay attention to it. Don't make a mistake.

I’ve always had bad experiences with check in or just with front desk customer service. It was nice to have a nice experience for once. The lady that works the front desk was Super nice. She told kept me well informed of all that I am paying for including parking. Greeted with a smile was really professional. I think she said her name was Tofi. Bright young woman. Definitely will be staying here if I am in this area.
