Gentle Hide Designhotel

The Gentle Hide is a sweet newly renovated hotel in Salzburg. I visited there with a tour group. The location was within easy access to old town and places of interest to travelers. I had a single room that was spacious with a comfortable bed, the window viewed the court yard garden. The staff were excellent and our breakfast buffet was generous and delicious. The problem was the step from reception to the door. The floors and the reception area and the Exit door were dark marble with poor lighting. When entering the hotel, there was string light on the step to signal you needed to be cautious. But when exiting there was no indication that there was a step down. There was a sign but it was not in the field of division for the exit. Additional lighting for this step or caution tape need to be added so you can visually see the difference in the step. I actually fell as I was leaving. The staff was attentive and I was not hurt. But this could have been a serious injury for me. I hope they correct this because it is a lovely place.

I stayed here as part of a Rick Steves tour group, and we were all very complementary of this accommodation! The room was quiet, spacious and modern. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast had a large variety to choose from, and was very tasty. The location was ideal, convenient to old town and all the sights. I would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I wish to heartily thank the hotel management and staff for the most satisfying and enjoyable stay they offered us. All the hotel staff has been welcoming at all times ,catering for our needs, always pleasant and smiling, and that includes all staff categories. The reception services were impecable, as were those of the cleaning staff and food caterers. Gentle Hide Designhotel is easily the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayed in. We were with a tour group an had heard similar thoughts from the others on our tour. The design is stunning. Very well thought out. It felt like we were staying in a very high end resort hotel. The details put into the design were right on point. The staff was so kind and helpful, the breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious. Everything was clean and the towels were fluffy. Right in the center of Old Town so very easy to get around. Beautiful hotel!
