Very disappointing experience at the Residenza Eleonora in Salerno: we are a couple with a 2 year old child and we had booked a double room with a cot for our baby. We discovered upon our arrival that the room did not have a cot and the owner of the residence let us know via text message that the cot was not available because she was out of town for the Easter weekend and therefore they essentially had to make do. Nothing was done to resolve the problem, we received no apologies, the reservation was not cancelable or refundable and to our request to have at least a discount on the price paid we were told that the cot was only 'a gift' from the structure. This is an unprofessional answer because the cot is a service that can be selected via Booking and if it is included by the accommodation facility it must be guaranteed. Guests are not unloaded in this way upon arrival. I would also add that the residence is accessed via a numeric code and that upon arrival there is no one to welcome guests. We spent an uncomfortable and sleepless night crammed three into one bed. Furthermore, the rooms are not soundproofed and you can hear everything that happens in the rooms next door, the comings and goings of people entering and exiting the front door as well as the traffic on the street. We strongly advise against this residence due to the terrible service provided and the carelessness with which it treated us and our child.
