We were not going to write a review. We were just going to count it as “it is what it is” situation but after the morning of our departure we decided if a previous guest had the experience we did we would want to know that information and make an informed decision based on that shared situation. The day before we were to arrive we received a message asking what time we would arrive. We let him know our plane was to land at 7pm and we would be there around 8pm. As we were getting ready to board our plane an announcement was made that the flight would leave an hour late. I immediately sent him a message with that information, no response. An hour later another announcement was made stating it would be delayed an additional 1 and 1/2 hours. I again sent a message, no response. Once we finally landed I received a message stating “check in ends at 9” I wrote back apologizing for the flights delays (although not our fault) and saying we would get there as soon as we possibly could, no response. Unsure of what to do my husband called him, apologizing again and saying we were doing everything we could to get there. He said “if you were staying less days I would cancel your reservation, make you fight it with ******* and you would have to figure out somewhere else to stay” Wow. We were quite shocked as the delays were beyond our control and we notified him as soon as we found out there would be a delay. He said he would wait “because it was worth it to him as we had 4 days booked” he also told us to get a taxi from the central station and not to walk as he “did not want to wait for us”. We walked outside and it was a ghost town. We tried to order a taxi on ItTaxi and call a company, both said the car would be over an hour. We called him again to update him and he said there should be taxis there, but there weren’t. We were finally able to get one who was dropping someone else off. We arrived, again apologizing and he let us in. Everything seemed ok… The day before we were to leave he told us there was a city tax of 12 “dollars” and card was also “accepted” but “cash was preferred” we thought no problem we have both. The morning of we had to leave by 8am to catch our train. We walked out to thank his sister (she makes the “breakfast”) and handed her the 12 dollars (American money) she started yelling and said it had to be in Euros, we said we didn’t have any Euros so we will use card because he said that was also acceptable. She yelled at us and said no only cash Euros and we had to go find a bank. For the next hour we ran around trying to find a bank or atm but nothing was open. We asked locals who had their shops open and they all told us nothing opened until 830 or 9. We went back and relayed our findings and asked to pay via card as he said that was also an acceptable payment. She started yelling at us again and said she would call her brother. He answered and said paying by card was fine. My husband paid and she literally tried to push him out to the
