The room was large, very clean, and felt very comfortable. The service staff are all smiling and very friendly. They will introduce the hotel facilities one by one when checking in. The service is really good and the food is quite delicious. It is a wonderful experience in Japan. I recommend you to stay here.

I booked a spacious Japanese-style room, but when I got there it was just a normal, small Japanese-style room. I asked the inn staff and they told me to contact Trip.com. I didn't know how to contact Trip.com, and they told me they had no room to change to, so I reluctantly stayed in the small room. The inn itself was very nice, and the staff were polite, but I really felt bad. I wish they'd make it possible to contact Trip.com immediately in cases like this. It left me with a very bad taste in my mouth afterwards. I didn't know who to contact, so I decided to write this.

It has an elegant Japanese-style room, right next to Sakata City Hall, Sanju Warehouse and Hiyoriyama Park. The owner came back from studying in the United States. His English is quite good and he is particularly interested in foreign guests. He will stay here again.

I stayed here for one night without meals. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I had a very pleasant stay. I would definitely like to stay here again.

Although it was not a new facility, the facility was clean and well-maintained, and the staff's customer service was good. I stayed here for two nights on business this time, but unlike a typical business hotel, there is a large public bath that can be used 24 hours a day, so I am very grateful. I would like to use it on my next business trip.

A fantastic stay here. Quite a large ryoken spread over 4 floors. Kaite is a very welcoming host who speaks very good English (the staff generally don't though). It's not particularly central (take a taxi from the train station) but there's plenty to see in the area. The ryokan has a small onsen, which we found on the hot side. Our room for three people was not large and would be rather cramped for the intended four. We had dinner in the restaurant which was really amazing, so do try it out. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you want a ryoken experience in Sakata. Look for the tiny café on a street corner a block away (past the city hall building) - best hot cocoa around!

This lovely ryokan in Sakata is a pleasant place to stay. Very clean, comfortable and well located. Thanks to Keita San and his wife for being such great hosts and providing excellent food. If you are in the area, I recommend you stay at Wakaba Ryokan.

One of the best traditional inns (ryokan) in Sakata! Staff are very friendly and especially interested in foreign guests. Was able to have great conversations and learn more about Sakata! There are English-speaking staff, English menu and other information translated into English. Rooms are clean and cozy and the herbal bathhouse (ofuro) is open 24hr. Free bicycle rental is available and so all of Sakata’s tourist attractions can easily be visited within a 40-minute walking radius. Lunch in Wakaba is also open to non-guests and is always priced at ¥800. Even among the locals, Wakaba is known for its delicious food! Halal food can also be provided if requested in advance. It was an amazing stay!

Although it is not a Japanese-style inn, we have grilled fish, sashimi, three other dishes, baked sweets, and fruit, all of which are fresh and delicious every year. This is a place I'm really looking forward to staying at.

At first, I was very indebted to my mother, and after that, I was taken care of at the time of the memorial service. We always welcome you with the atmosphere of "welcome home", and in recent years, every time I visit, I am surprised by the remarkable progress in the taste and quality of the food. The price would be so high at some high-class Japanese-style inn, but at Wakaba Ryokan, it's a reasonable price. We highly recommend you visit

It's hard to walk with luggage from the station, there are no convenience stores around, but it's located in a prime location in the city next to the city hall. Dinner was good and breakfast was delicious. I was on a business trip and stayed alone, and used a 6-tatami Japanese-style room with a bathroom. I was very satisfied with the reasonable price.
