Protur Safari Park Aparthotel

I was going to give it 3 stars however the hotel can’t really control the type of people staying in the hotel! We’ve just had a family holiday here, it’s a nice hotel with lots to do and well located near the beach, shops, restaurants etc. the staff were all really nice and I would say the food is generally pretty good for an all inclusive and drink selection. The negatives I would say is that as we went during UK school holidays it was very busy so breakfast was a bit ridiculous and the fact it is only 8-10am! There is an additional continental breakfast at 1030am but I do think breakfast finishes far too early. The rooms get cleaned okay, the refurbished rooms now have no sink or cooker in the kitchenette area which is slightly annoying. Mini disco isn’t the best very repetitive and not mixed up each night. Disappointed there was a real lack of Spanish food there. Also I assume this is just because it was school Holidays but the hotel was very much brits abroad, but probably should have known better being a proper TUI hotel and holiday. I reckon the hotel would be really nice to stay in outside school holidays when it’s quieter. I probably wouldn’t stay there again but overall it was a good hotel.

The activities, pools and food were lovely. Food was labled with allergens which was very useful. As a person with dairy and egg intolerances i still found there was plenty to eat. The pools were pretty cold initially (even the baby pools) but you do get used to them. We never had a problem getting sun loungers and there was 10 of us. We found the bar at the tex mex, away from the entertainment was the best. Very chilled and served very fast and the staff there were lovely! The room wasn't clean when we arrived. I found wrappers, hair bobbles and dust bunnies all over. The room wasn't never cleaned properly after that either. Also, the room was full of ants. A cot was provided for our 7 month old with a great mattress and a baby bath was also provided. We took a thermometer, so we knew what to put our baby in at night. The aircon didnt seem to work, so I spoke to the receptionist who sent a technician. The air conditioning is a lie. The technician reception sent lied and said that the A/C was making the room 18°C just like it said on the controller. I then showed him my own thermometer that said it was 24°C and he confessed. In summer, even though it lets you select 18°C, the software limits it in the background. If you don't trigger the motion sensor for 2 hours, it goes up to 26°C due to eco mode. We don't tend to do a lot of walking around in our sleep so it got too hot every night. We paid for a room with A/C but didn't really get one. I requested a fan and they had none left. Obviously, other people were having the same problems. Overall It was an okay hotel but I wouldn't go again. I don't like being lied to.

Great for families with children. Good selection of food. Excellent pool facilities for all ages. Nice walk into Sa Coma. Only negative was - don’t eat out at the Indian Restaurant they have outside hotel. The meal was awful - ended up with severe bad stomach / sickness etc next morning. Stick with the hotel food. Last thing ; the check in was first class and ladies on desk very very helpful.

Once we arrived, check-in was quick & we were given directions to our room. We knew the place was recently renovated, & that some small issues may arise. We did not expect the response from the front desk (reception), the tall english woman was abrupt & rude, we never had felt so dismissed when giving a compaint. The issues we had were minor, & if dealt with in the correct manner would had made it an “open & shut” case. The air-conditioning did not work. Nobody was sent up to fix it, as we were told all technicians were busy but someone would come at some point (never happened). We had an issue with ants, which again, were told “it’s normal in Mallorca” (I understand nature is nature, but nature was in our beds at this point). The cleaning was very poor, we asked for someone to go over the room as upon arrival we found hairs & a few ants awaiting our arrival. Again, this never happened. We don’t ever do online reviews, however due to the hotels response, not dealing with the complaints in any way more than a “that’s normal” or “it is standard in Mallorca”, we felt obliged to inform others what they may be walking in to.

We stayed here for 7 nights in the May half term break. The food options are great, plenty of selection even for the fussy eaters in our family. Pools are lovely, a little bit cold but once you’re in - you get used to it! It’s a super busy hotel, it’s the busiest and biggest we’ve ever stayed at. I couldn’t bare to imagine what it must be like in the summer holidays, it was a struggle most nights to find a table for the evening entertainment and that’s during a half term break! It’s clearly just been renovated, to a lovely standard. A few things were wrong, our air conditioning did not work, and our main bedroom window wasn’t easily lockable - so someone from the outside could easily slide it open. Not great when you’re on the ground floor. Luckily - we found a way to lock it using one of our house keys. We were situated right next to the lifts, so when the evening entertainment finished every night - we had drunk people laughing, shouting and being very loud outside our room. Not great when you’ve just got the kids down to sleep. It’s in a great location, not far from the beach and lots of local “tat” shops to buy the pool inflatables etc. Overall - such a lovely stay. Would’ve given 5* if the few things I mentioned weren’t a problem.

We stayed here for 11 nights very busy hotel but the good thing was if you went early to get your sunbeds if you didn't stay they would come around and take your towels away if you wasn't on them the hotel was clean and tidy rooms where a little small
