Fenton Court Motel

Easy check in, clean room, comfortable bed, nice bedding. Shower was hard to use easy to get burnt but sorted that really quick. Definitely staying again.

The room is too small, the bed is small, and the kitchen and bathroom are small. There are two small hot spring pools, but it is not sure whether it is hot spring water or ordinary hot water. You can go for a bath when you are young.

The kitchen was impressive (huge, clean, well equipped), the room was warm (there's a heater) and the shared bathroom and toilets were clean, though the sinks are a bit small but still usable. The curtains are a bit see-through, it won't be making the room completely dark (+ light from the corridor through the door) but it isn't too bad. If you're sensitive to noises, we could hear a bit of traffic in the evening but not so much at night. Since we're in june, the traffic ain't much and the neighborhood was overall really calm.
Rotorua Downtown Backpackers

The location is very good, right next to the i-site, it is very convenient to catch the intercity bus in the morning. Many restaurants nearby, Government Gardens, Polynesian baths, and a Tamaki Maori dinner event I participated in are all within a 10-minute walk. Hygiene is okay for backpackers’ hostels. They seem to wash the sheets themselves rather than outsource them, but I don’t know which is cleaner. I don’t know if this hostel is run by Indians. The staff are all Indians, so there are more Indians staying in. Everyone is very kind. The only one who wanted to complain is that the bathroom hook is too high. The 154's stature said that he couldn't reach it on tiptoe, and the staff responded that they had nothing to do. Fortunately, I carried a portable hanger at any time, barely reaching it. Otherwise, you can only put on the wet floor towel to change your clothes, just think about it😥
Kiwi As Guest House

Very nice owner, completely equipped kitchen, living room with dining table. The carpet was very dirty, both in the hall and in our room. The room was OK but more youth hostels than hotel. In Rotorua, accommodation is much more expensive than other cities. The price-performance ratio was therefore worse than in other cities

The kitchen has many facilities but is poorly maintained. The oven and microwave cannot be used. It's a short walk to the supermarket or park, and of course driving is not a problem. There is also some black debris in the bathtub, which affects the willingness to use it.
