Residence Inn Rochester Mayo Clinic Area

Rochester|0.27km from The Plummer Building - Mayo Clinic Historical Suite
I find myself going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester on a fairly regular basis. To make these recurring visits more enjoyable I looked for a place that was both on the tunnel system to the Mayo Clinic and had a warm and welcoming staff. The Residence Inn Mayo Clinc by Marriott more than meets my selection criteria! The Inn is just 3-4 blocks away from the Gonda and Mayo Bldgs, and I can walk there comfortably in any weather in the underground tunnel system that connects the Residence Inn to the Mayo Campus. Also The Marriott Residence Inn offers a Medical Visit rate that is better than any Senior or AAA or AARP rate! But the main reason I keep returning to the Residence Inn Marriott Mayo Clinic is the Front Office Reception staff. They actually remember me! In my most recent visit May 1 and 2 of 2024, I was immediately warmly greeted by name by weekday daytime Manager Ashley M at Residence Inn Mayo. Ashley acknowledged me as soon as I walked in the front door although it had been two months since my last visit. I was quite pleasantly surprised by this as I am sure thousands of visitors have come to the hotel since my last stay and thousands were checked in by Ashley! This immediate recognition by Ashely is still something I remember since me departure. Yes, for me now going to The Residence Inn Mayo in Rochester is like visiting close family relatives! When I have to make my next visit to Mayo Clinic I already know where I will chose to stay- It will be at the Marriott Residence Inn Mayo Clinic which offers me a great location, a favorable medical booking rate, and a front officer manager, Ashely M, who recognizes and welcomes me as soon as I walk in the door!

It is very convenient to go to Mayo, and it is also the reason why the price is expensive. The underground and the 2nd floor corridor can pass, avoiding the cold in winter. The front desk is welcoming, the hotel cleaning is very sloppy, the tea is not replenished, the garbage is not taken away, and the tip is taken diligently.

Excellent place to stay across the street from St. Marys Hospital. Each suite has a mini kitchen. They offer a very nice free breakfast-both warm and cold selections. And they have a dinner offering week nights. The lobby is warm and inviting and a very comfortable place for lounging or dining. Everything was clean and the staff very accommodating. There's a daily refreshing of the room. All of this at a very reasonable price. Free underground parking if needed. Yes- stay here!!

Breakfast is a simple Western food. It is also a Western food dinner from Monday to Thursday. It is convenient to not want to do it yourself. The room has a kitchen and you can make Chinese food yourself. Hotel location is not bad, there is parking.

Fabulous hotel & staff ,& great location. Shower could do with a seat & grab bars at shower end & a detachable showerhead, & grab rails at toilet, to make it more suitable for those of us with disabilities. And power assisted/self opening room doors/doors throughout hotel. Shame bar wasn't open. Room bins could have done with emptying more regularly. Rooms would be better with a keurig coffee machine than percolator, plus coffee in rooms wasn't great, glad I brought my own. But other than those few things, a great hotel, staff, breakfast & coffee in breakfast room were fantastic. Staff were all very friendly & very helpful. Certainly better than the last hotel I stayed at in Rochester MN.
